Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry towered over the great lake; lights illuminating the darkness from the smattering of different shaped windows that covered the dark grey walls. Behind the windows stood many rooms with dark corners, and hidden charms, each with its own secret, and its own beauty. Behind one window in particular, on the east side of the building, was a forgotten classroom on the second floor. Still recovering from the war, its upturned tables and cracked walls collected dust, but this room had seen more than learning and more than destruction. It had seen friendships broken and made, spilled tears of lost loves, and the kindling of new love. All thanks to one special piece of furniture that attracted those with broken hearts, hearts ready to burst from joy, and those hearts who simply needed to wallow in peace.
The patchwork love seat was nestled into the darkest corner of the room. It's once bright colours, fading, the corners of its cushions frayed, and the sunken shape of student's molded into its seat. The old plush couch drew people in like a moth to a flame. It had seen so much destruction and betrayal, yet it only showed you the love and comfort that had been poured into it, and over it throughout the years.
This had been the couch that witnessed Sirius and Regulus go their separate ways, the heartbreak they both felt.
This had been the couch where Remus Lupin had broken down in relief and joy when his friends discovered the truth.
This had been the couch that Draco Malfoy had sat on to contemplate his task, his duties, and his allegiance to the dark lord.
This had been the couch that willingly let Harry Potter sink deep into the soft cushions in his bloodied state and sleep for what felt like the first time in weeks.
This will be the couch that encourages Scorpius Malfoy to finally kiss Lily Potter.
