Most of them cried a lot that night. Victor Mancha did not, however. He wasn't quite sure if it was because he could not physically cry, or if he subconsciously felt that he should be strong for the others.

Gert was dead, and Chase and Old Lace were missing in action. The whole situation was certainly not a good end to the evening.

The Leapfrog proved to be awkward to pilot, but Nico and Victor managed to get what was left of the gang back home safely. Karolina, still dizzy from being hit by the Leapfrog's lasers, leaned on her alien fiancee's arm as they entered the Hostel. Molly had fallen asleep on the leap home and was carried off the ship by Victor.

"Can we all agree to deal with everything properly in the morning?" Nico asked, wiping her smeared makeup off of her cheeks. The conscious members were all in agreement, ready to attempt to temporarily forget the events of the evening.

Victor carried the sleeping Molly to her bedroom, setting her down gently on her bed. He was glad that she had fallen asleep on the way back. Carrying her inside was a lot easier than having to watch her cry. He gently removed her tennis shoes and panda hat so that she would sleep more comfortably.

Just as he stepped out of the bedroom and flicked the light off, her voice broke the silence.

"Victor?" she said, sitting up in bed, and he turned on the light once again. "It wasn't just a bad dream, was it? Gert's really gone..."

"Yeah, Molly. I'm sorry," Victor replied sadly. "She really is." The small, brunette girl brought her knees up to her chest and sighed.

"Whenever any of my goldfish died, my parents would always give me a lecture about how everything was supposed to die eventually, and that it would all be okay," Molly said. "But I'm pretty sure that this wasn't supposed to happen."

"No, it wasn't," Victor replied.

"Do you think Chase will come back?" she asked.

"Maybe. I hope so."

"What are we going to do now?"

"Sleep and wake up tomorrow."

"I miss her already..."

"Me too, Molly," Victor said. "But it'll all be okay."
