What does she see in him?
She remembers that question when she hold the sleeping baby in her arms. The said baby's brother stood by the side and whined about wanting to hold him. She sighed and gave him to the boy with a 'be careful with him, he's little'. Not once had his father come and asked for holding him. He sits in his working office all day long. She knows why he doesn't come and she remembers that question again.
What does she see in him?
She remembers that question when they wait for the man to take the family photograph. He does not want to but yet she insists. He doesn't want to touch his children, not because he doesn't like them. She picks up the baby boy and gives the older boy to her husband. He blinked of surprise and tried to say something. The boy he holds smiles big. And she says one last thing before the photo.
Dear… please smile.
He cries instead with lone tears.
What does she see in him?
She remembers that question when he stands there, coat on and with briefcase in one hand. They talk quietly, so they'll not wake the kids, exchanging small words. He tells her to wait for him and she smiles. She looks at her neat hands and then looks at his big ones. The big ones that he didn't want to touch his children with, mumbling that he will smitten them, being a monster. He wasn't a monster.
Is it okay for me not to wake the children?
Yeah. I might cry if I see their faces.
How stupid, it's okay for you to cry.
He does an attempt to open the door, but gets interrupted by small steps. She turns around and sees her two boys, yawning and in pyjama. He sleepily says that Al needed to pee and points at the younger brother behind him. She smiles and praises him for taking care of his brother. Then the children's golden eyes blinks and they look at him. He looks back; standing there, coat on, briefcase in one hand and doesn't say a thing.
He doesn't say I love you, he doesn't say I'll come back to you. He doesn't say anything that she secretly pleads him to say.
He opens the door and walks away.
He does say Goodbye.
He slams the door shut in front of the shocked children faces, and she steals a last peak of his disappearing back. She first doesn't hear her oldest boy's desperate questions. Where is daddy going? She thinks a single thought before answering the boy.
What do I see in him?
