These verses come from 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, verses 4, 7, 8a, and 13. They are from the New King James Version. I don't own that version, but I do own a Bible.

It was Valentine's Day again. She'd waited along time for this. Even though she didn't parade it. She had tried not to be envious of the other girls as they all got valentines from there sweethearts.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
And maybe this was the year he would give her a valentine. She'd believed in him in the past. Today she believed that maybe, just maybe, he'd give her a valentine. She'd heard many a romance story where the hero and heroine gave up everything for love. Her hero wouldn't have to go that far, but she hoped he'd give her a small something
(Love) Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongue, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
She sat in her room, waiting. Then there came a knock on the door. She flew (literally) to the door and opened it. There was no one there. She looked around, and something on the ground caught her eye. It was a red, heart-shaped card; edged in lace. Smiling, she picked it up and took it into her room, closing the door behind her. She'd hoped he would give her a card. She smiled again.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
