There are times when she dreams of moments that does not belong to her.

This began to happen when she was four, old enough to realise what kind of power she holds. And so, she grew up with memorises that she does not have, sorrows and happiness of which were not hers.

There are times when she predicted the future.

She cannot hold the power to change it, but to only watch and accept what was displayed. And so, she grew up with the will to undo the wrongs but not the strength to overcome.

Then one day, she had a vision.

Black. Gone. War.

Her heart was aching, and she could not breathe. She hates this feeling, but she does not know why. And so, she carried out her duty to fulfil the predicament and send him away.

"My ninja is going on a journey, I'd like to bring him good fortune," She told the shopkeeper, "Three thousand birds please."

"That's enough for the whole of India," The shopkeeper stared.

"Okay."

The first time they met, Tomoyo played the angel of light whilst Kurogane was stuck with being the mortal of darkness. Though much younger, Tomoyo seemed more mature then the older Kurogane.

The second time they met, their roles took a major switch and Kurogane began acting his age while Tomoyo acted every inch like the way a twelve-year-old would.

Childish. Demanding. Cute.

Kurogane tried to ignore the cute part. Tomoyo obviously disregard all the above.

They grew up together, him always by her side and she always a radiant company.

However, happy moments do not last long.

Soon she shall be the princess of Feudal Japan and he shall be her ninja.

"ASAP, Kuro-chan! Come on!" Tomoyo giggled.

"What the word?" He raised an eyebrow, agitated.

"Always Say A Prayer!" She smiled.

"You're my only God, Tomoyo-hime. My only God."

---

When he swore he would be back, Tomoyo did not know whether to laugh or cry.

He has never promised her anything.

She does not want him to do so, because she broke many of hers.

The underlying message was for her to wait.

Can she do that?

Kurogane is such a simple, simple man. All he ever wanted was a family to settle in, and bring back the past he deserved to have.

Tomoyo was such a complicated, complicated girl. There is nothing she wants.

Until he made that empty promise that she knows he wants her to believe.

---

"Make her drink Red Bull. Saves us time," Kurogane muttered, "I want to go back."

"Huh?" Syaoran eyes widen.

"It gives her wings to fly!" Kurogane flapped his arms, trying to demonstrate something.

"HUH?"

"Forget it."
