Kira believes his GUNDAM is cooler. Athrun begs to differ.
"Athrun Zala."
"Shinn Asuka."
Pause.
"What?"
"What are you doing?"
"Saving your ass."
"Why?"
"Don't you want me to?"
"Athrun!"
"Shinn."
"I'm serious."
"Iie. You're grieving and you're venting."
"Why did you help me when I killed you!"
"Don't feel guilty. You didn't want to and I'm still here."
"Athrun."
"Shinn."
"Why are you so kind?"
Athrun was caught off-guard.
"Don't give him ideas, we love him this way."
"Kira Yamato."
"Aa."
"It's because of you that Athrun got into so much trouble. Did you know that?"
"Shinn!" Athrun warned.
"Aa." Kira looked down. "I know."
"Kira-" Athrun started to say.
"-demo, now I understand why. I regret not being by your side. This could have ended much sooner."
"Shinn…"
"Athrun, you're very fond of my name, aren't you?"
"You keep saying mine too!" Athrun said in his blushing defense.
"Athrun-kun, are you… whining?"
"Shut up, Kira."
"Give me one."
"They're not toys!"
"It's much safer and faster if we have them inside our cockpits."
"Aa, you're right. Pick one."
"Hoi!" Shinn exclaimed.
"Right, you get the cranky one."
"Who are you calling cranky-"
"He even whines like you, Athrun."
"Shut up."
"Ok, children, who wants a ride in 10XA-Custom Freedom?"
"I'll go," they both said.
"So no one wants me? Aww… that hurt."
"Face it, Athrun, my GUNDAM is cooler. Besides, they're tired of you. They might murder me and start another war, wouldn't that be exciting?"
"Don't joke about that," Shinn frowned.
"Fine. Take Shinn, he doesn't like me," Athrun added.
"Hey!"
"Come on, Shinn-kun," Kira teased.
"You wait till we land!"
"You forget something, Shinn-kun."
Kira opened the cockpit entrance and Shinn went in.
The door shut. Athrun's face returned with a grin.
"On the Eternal and ArchAngel, I'm Commander Zala."
The screen went out.
"Shimatta!"
With lighter hearts and a few laughs, they continued their journey to the Eternal.
