The Goblin Dance

Did you know that Jareth has a favorite song that he sings each year on All Hallow's Eve? Perhaps you did. But, did you also know that this song was inspired by a dance the goblins performed for their esteemed King? Details ahead, as well as how it became famous everywhere else in the Labyrinth. Be warned, this is a song parody of The Monster Mash.

The Goblin Dance

Author's Disclaimer: No, I do not own Labyrinth, or The Monster Mash. All rights go to their respective owners. I wanted to do some song parodies, and my sister suggested I do one for Halloween, and so I did. By far, this is my favorite song from Halloween, even if it is too catchy. Sorry, you'll have to provide your own background effects. This song is sung every year by Jareth in honor of the dance created by the goblins, as well as made infamous by the fireys. He enjoys singing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it!

I was lounging on the throne, late one night

When my eyes beheld a darling sight

Of my goblins appearing all in a row

I was transfixed; I couldn't blink.

The goblins then struck a pose

With their sparkly black bows

Their grins were rather naughty

As they waved their jazz hands.

They jumped in small circles with practiced ease

And started shaking, as though chased by bees.

Within four minutes, they danced quite enough;

With some thrusts, they strutted their nasty stuff.

They made me so proud, proud as can be

When a lone firey came, and he

Entered the room, threw his head, and said,

"How about frolicking through the firey forest?"

So things did change throughout all the goblin lands,

Author's Notes: Ok, you can throw Halloween candy at me for my silliness and terrible rhymes. There were a couple lines with a syllable off, but it just seemed to fit better/I didn't know how to fix it. Also, as with my previous Halloween story, I dedicate this song parody to my dearest sister ever! She's turning 21 on Halloween, and I know how much she likes the silliness of the goblins. She also is really great because she helps me with my fanfiction ideas, encouraging and reining me in when I get too outlandish. Happy Birthday!
