When the light faded, standing in its place, was a girl. She was slight, about five feet seven, with waist-length waves of burnished red-gold hair. When she caught sight of Nightwing, her ice-blue eyes narrowed in annoyance. "Nightwing."
The costumed hero answered with a smirk, "Hi."
The girl sauntered up to him, her hips swaying with every step. She stopped directly in front of Nightwing. Wally let out a long, low whistle.
"Shut up, Wally."
The team gaped. Robin crossed his arms. "Who are you?"
Nightwing ignored everyone else, "Sup, Timmy. What's up with the outfit?"
'Timmy' glared at him, "I was undercover, dick. Why do I always have to be the one to pick you up when you jump the multiverses?"
"Because you love me," Nightwing said, pouting. He turned to the team, "Hey guys, meet my little brother Timmy, otherwise known as Red Robin."
"The fast food chain?" Wally asked while Artemis snorted. "Your 'brother' is a chick?"
"Nah," Nightwing answered breezily. "Just an expert at disguise."
"I don't have a brother," Robin stated flatly.
Nightwing shrugged, "I have three." He raised an eyebrow, daring Robin to argue with him.
Tim sighed, "Whatever. You coming or what?"
"But Timmy," Nightwing whined. "Don't you want to meet Young Justice?"
"No. I want to go home, avoid Todd and the Demon, barricade myself in my room, and yell epically at the phone until Smallville explodes off the face of the Earth," Tim answered with a straight face.
Nightwing sucked in a loud breath, "Oooh. What did Kon do?"
"I am not discussing my relationship with you." Tim shot a look at Young Justice, who was now watching them as if they were an entertaining reality programme. "And definitely not in front of them."
Nightwing's face fell, then lit up again, "Oh, Timmy! Earth-16's Young Justice has a Superboy too. You can talk to him!"
At that, Superboy stepped backward a bit while M'gann and Artemis stared at Tim in confusion. Tim, meanwhile, studied Superboy intently, with one eyebrow raised. Superboy dimly noted that Tim's baby-blues seemed to have been made of lasers that could stare straight into his soul.
Abruptly, Tim scoffed, "Are you kidding me? This one is still straight as a board. Maybe in five years or more."
Nightwing shrugged, "If you say so."
"I do," Tim answered. He was already turning away. "Come on, then."
The two otherworld heroes disappeared in another flash of light as Young Justice looked on, completely speechless.
"Well, that was disconcerting, heavy on the 'dis'," Robin mumbled.
"You can say that again," Wally said, munching a cookie he seemed to have gotten from nowhere.
So Robin did.
