Dr. Henry Jekyll is really gonna do it. He's going to use his experiment on himself. He has done it; the potion has been created. Before he drinks his concoction, he thinks about himself.

He has it all; the fortune, the looks, and the respect he deserves.

With the drug in his hand, he knew he will make his breakthrough. If his experiment works, he would have split the good and evil within himself. Think about it. Without the evil part, the good part wouldn't be troubled by any wicked thoughts; and without the good part, the evil part wouldn't be ashamed of all the things to have done that were immoral.

There was one side effect he knew from this: death.

Nevertheless, he's going to drink the drug to see if it worked.

"God help me," he looked at himself in the mirror for one last time. "Make it work."

At last, he drunk the potion, and as soon as he did, he felt the pain coming from his stomach, and his bones were grinding. Oh, the pain. Then also came nausea. He's feeling pain and sickness all at the same time. With his consciousness starting to fade away, that's when he realized one conclusion to his experiment.

It failed. The drug failed.

He was dying. In a matter of seconds, he fell to the ground as the last of his life has faded away. His butler, Poole arrived later as the door wasn't locked to see his dead body, and with shock, he immediately reports to Utterson the bad news.

The next day, a funeral procession took place in the graveyard for London's most respective doctor.

"May God have mercy on your soul," the priest has finished his piece before the coffin is being buried to the ground. Everybody that knew him from life offered their condolences including Poole, Utterson, and Lanyon. His longtime friend knew that this experiment wouldn't work out, and he didn't listen. Nevertheless, he came to the funeral to offer his condolence.

As everybody left, a gravestone is shown its details.

Henry Jekyll

1823 - 1886

"Everybody's favorite doctor."

Author's Note: What do you think? Just my interpretation if Jekyll died instead of turning into Hyde when he performed his experiment. After all, it was said in the final chapter that he might risk death if he were to try it. It's never shown if he were to die, so I made this piece myself.
