A/N: So this is a little story I wrote.. (actually it took me very long to write, since I wasn't in the right mode for it).. so I hope you like it
Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece (if I did I would never write something like this!)
Blood. Everywhere. It was a total massacre.
With trembling limbs the young lady came crawling out from her hiding. She stopped as the view reached her eyes and with a frightened gasp she sat straight up. "What…happened?" she asked, her voice shaking.
"I got upset," an answer sounded from behind her and she turned around to face the killer.
He had bloodshot eyes and ash-coloured skin. His white shirt was coloured by the blood of his enemies. He was still holding one of the bloody katanas in his left hand and the bandana around his head was frayed and hanging loose. He had bloodstains covering his whole face, but none of the blood was his own. His chest raised and lowered with quick, troubled movements as if it caused him pain to be in motion even though he wasn't hurt at all. "Now, you must be the only survivor," he noticed in a scary voice, which gave her the creeps.
"Why… why are you acting so weird?" she asked.
"Weird?" he asked with a puzzled look on his face.
Then a terrifying smile lit up his face and he lowered his katana, so that its blade slightly touched her neck. As the warm sword touched her Nami crawled backwards with startled movements, until she was sitting with her back against a bloody wall. "This can't be happening," she whispered, looking at the swordsman with panicky eyes.
Zoro just laughed madly and rushed towards her with his katana pointing at her right eye. The edge of the blade pierced right through her lens, vitreous body, and cut over her optic nerve. Then it continued to slice through cranium and brain. Her scream echoed in his head for a long time, but as he drew back his katana he still smiled, and there was no regret in his eyes. The sword was dripping with blood and brains as he slowly wiped it of with his fingers. Then he sheathed it and turned away from the body of his crewmate. "I won't let anybody get in my way," he whispered as he stepped over the corpse of Sanji, who had tried to protect his precious Nami.
He had slit the cook's stomach and now the blonds insides were flowing from the wound and it splashed up on Zoros boots as he stepped in it, but he simply ignored it and continued towards the coast were even more bodies were lying.
As he eyed the blue sea he stopped. The white sand was red now because of the blood flowing from the corpses of the Straw Hats. Zoro didn't even look down on the first cadaver. Usopp hadn't been worth killing. Instead the swordsman stopped in front of Luffy, who were still shaking. "You're still alive?" the green-haired murderer asked in a surprised yet cold voice.
"W…wh…why?" the captain stuttered trying to look up at his former first mate, but unable to do it, because of the pain shooting through his body.
"Why? Why what? Why I killed you all? Why I suddenly betrayed you?" Zoro asked.
The captain nodded even though it cost him a lot of pain to move his head, but he didn't get an answer. Instead the swordsman just drew his one sword and stabbed his captain through the heart. "I killed you because you were standing in my way," he said as if the black-haired boy was still alive, still looking at him with his black eyes.
"You would never understand, I guess, how much it hurts me to kill you."
Zoro let go of his precious sword and turned his back to his dead captain. "I had to do it. I had to kill you myself," he whispered.
With clenched hands he walked away from the beach. "I loved you, and that would have blocked my path to becoming the best."
