AN: New story. First PMD story I wrote. I hope that it's at least a good start. In the future I will come back and fix this up, but for now this is what you have got.

Chapter One: The Storm Approaches

A long time ago, the world was in relative harmony. Very little criminals and peace between Pokemon tribes. But once time started deteriorating and the world started paralyzing many Pokemon turned to the life of crime to survive. Eventually the whole world was paralyzed. The sun never rose again, the wind never blew. Chaos and mayhem ensued. The beginning of the end of time started with Pokemon going crazy and killing others to find food. After around five years of chaos everything settled down. For around a month. Then Primal Dialga grew to power and kept anybody from changing time to fix the world. 100 years later, around no one knows exactly, a young human girl was born to the name Evelyn, a girl with the powers to speak to Pokemon and the Dimensional Scream. Primal Dialga could feel her powers and sent Dusknoir, his lead Pokemon, to kill her. He failed and only killed her parents.

Ten years later?

(Evelyn POV)

As we got closer to the end of Dusk Forest, the amount of Sableye kept getting higher and higher. So the rumors were true. They were protecting a Temporal Gate if the amount of Sableye is anything to go by. Apparently, according to an old Toxicroak that the highest numbers of Sableye are in the vicinity of a Temporal Gate or Temporal Tower. According to rumors that Toxicroak once tried to approach Temporal Tower, but he got pummeled badly but escaped. But then again the rumor mills in the villages on the continent weren't always accurate. I remember one time when someone started to spread a rumor about Grovyle being the only grass type left after the planet's paralysis. But Grovyle quickly shot that down by saying that he grew up in a village of grass types and proceeded to pull out a picture of his village to the crowd gathered around him in Foggy Village. Not to mention Blossom, a pink Celebi who has a major crush on Grovyle, is a grass type.

But one thing people knew was correct about our group was that I was the only human on the continent. My parents died when I was 6 and I was found by Grovyle, when he was but a Treeko, and he and his village raised me.

"Evelyn. Do we have everything in your bag? Apples, Oran Berries, and everything else?" Grovyle asked me. Oh, yeah I somehow had the ability to speak with Pokemon and I still don't know why. I just stopped trying to guess why I have that ability.

"Yes. Now I can see a large concentration of light up ahead, so if I had to guess that would be the Temporal Gate. So Grovyle we need to be quiet." I whisper to him and he nods in understanding. Blossom points to some nearby bushes that give a view of the upcoming area. We duck into the bushes and thankfully I am to fit without sticking out. Blossom is to my left and Grovyle to her right. I see a large concentration of Sableye, possibly 50 on the plateau. A majority are patrolling the outside area while very few are guarding the Temporal Gate, or at least I think it is the gate as it looks what someone would call a Temporal Gate. I look around for an opening and see Dusknoir come out of the ground at the eastern side with… Toxicroak! Why did Dusknoir bring him here when usually people he captured went to the Spectral Fortress?

"I told you, I don't know any human." Toxicroak told Dusknoir who looked angry.

"Sableye, use Fury Swipes on Toxicroak until he gives us information." Dusknoir orders the Sableye before backing away from the every Sableye and watching intently.

"You good for nothing brat! I raised you for your mother and now you want to kill me for information. I wish I ignored her plea.!" Toxicroak spat at Dusknoir as the Sableyes' eyes lit up one by one.

"Now!" Dusknoir said ignoring Toxicroak. Then all at once all 50 Sableye started unleashing Fury Swipes. I bite my tongue in horror as Toxicroak becomes bloodied and is nearly torn to shreds. Meanwhile, Dusknoir is just laughing staring the opposite way of the Temporal Gate.

I give a look to Grovyle and Blossom and they nod. It was now or never. Before we ran out I saw Toxicroak give a wink my direction before he collapsed and was assaulted more viciously. We decided it was now or never. Toxicroak would have a better future once we saved it. Grovyle grabbed Blossom under his arm, as she was the slowest and would be the last to get there if he didn't carry her. We quickly stood and sprinted as fast as we could. As we started running Dusknoir noticed us.

"Sableye! Intruders! Don't let them into the Gate of Time or you'll have to deal with Primal Dialga!" Dusknoir yelled as he started shooting off small Shadow Balls at us, but they were always too slow. We are able to reach the Gate of Time, as I guess it is called, without the Sableye catching up to us. We all three enter the gate at the same time and I feel myself pulled into a wormhole looking dimension with grovyle and Blossom ahead of me, but then as I see events of the past as we go backwards I feel an attack hit me. I feel myself start fading. I feel Grovyle grab my hand.

"Don't let go! We're almost there! We've already come this far! No don't let go!" Grovyle yelled as I see us reach the end of the tunnel but at the last millisecond my hand slips from his and everything goes black and I slip into unconsciousness.

(? POV)

"Hmm." I sigh as I stand in front of the famous Wigglytuff Guild. I wished for this day for so long, to join a Guild and go on expeditions. But my nerves were getting to me. I start pacing in front of the grate that I must step on to enter.

"No!" I tell myself, "I refuse to be paralyzed by this any longer! This is it. The day I join the Guild!" I proceed to step onto the grate.

"Pokemon detected! Pokemon detected!" A voice says beneath the grate.

"Whose footprint? Whose footprint?" A second voice shouts a bit louder.

"The footprint is Vulpix's! The footprint is Vulpix's!" The first voice shouts back.

My nerves finally get to me and I jump backwards off the grate.

"They seemed to have left!" The voice shouted to the other voice.

"Ugh. Another prank!" The second voice yells before it goes quiet.

That was way too nerve wracking. I couldn't even go into a building, for Giratina's sake.

"I guess it'll have to wait to tomorrow. I was just hoping that this treasure would help me. But I guess it didn't help." I sigh as I look down at the strange relic on my necklace. I, uh, found it a week ago. I don't know what it was, but I knew it was valuable. I resign to not going in today so I decide to head down to Krabby Beach to watch the sunset. I head on down to the beach to relax.

(No POV)

After the Vulpix had left two Poison Type pokemon came out from behind a totem at the village. A Zubat and Koffing to be precise. And they both had a sinister look on their face.

"Did you get a load of that? That coward Vulpix had some kind of treasure on her necklace." The Koffing tells his partner.

"So let's go after it. If it is a treasure we'll be rich." The Zubat says before the two head down to the beach.

(Vulpix POV)

I lay down on the edge of the beach as the Krabby start blowing their bubbles into the sunset. It is a beautiful sight with the sun's reflection off the bubbles. Ever since I came to this area I have been coming here when I'm feeling down. It is uplifting just staring into the sunset. As I look back and see the Krabby start to leave I see a speck of brown out of my eye. When I turn to see what it was I see an Eevee passed out on the shore of the beach. How did they get there?

I quickly run over to the Eevee and put my ear to their white fluff to listen for a heartbeat. I hear a heartbeat and stop panicking. I decide to see if I could wake them up and start nudging them.

(Evelyn POV)

I feel myself slowly come out of a state of unconsciousness. The last thing I remembered was going through the Temporal Gate and then, nothing. I didn't know where Grovyle or Blossom was or even where I was. As I start waking up I feel someone pawing at my chest. I didn't question it as I open my eyes and see a Vulpix prodding me with her paw. She must have found me unconscious. But immediately I close my eyes from the blast of light.

"Are you alright?" The Vulpix asks me as my eyes start reopening. My eyes open and I look out over the water and see… The Sun! It was beautiful. My eyes started watering from its beauty. But I shake myself and try to stand up. I feel myself start to stand on two feet but immediately fall back down. I look at my reflection. I… I… I'm an Eevee. How was that possible?!

"Are you okay? Do you remember how you got here?" I hear the Vulpix asks looking at me with curious eyes. I start racking my mind for answers and say the first thing I think of.

"I don't remember anything." I say and the Vulpix gives me a sad look.

'Nothing? Nothing at all? Surely you must remember something." The Vulpix says before starting to pace and shooting Ember attacks at the sand. A nervous habit or something is what it probably is.

Should I tell her my name? That I'm human? But I've only just met her. But the aura around her gave off a sense of compassion and concern.

"Well…" I drag out the word and Vulpix looks to me with hopeful eyes. Like she was no longer guilty for my "amnesia". I just hoped she didn't see me as a liar for what I was about to say. But why didn't I want her to see me as a liar? I don't know what to do? And then I decided that I would...

AN: So which one will she choose? Tell the truth or not? What is the Vulpix's name? How did Vulpix find the orb? Some questions, to be answered next time! Others, will be answered way far down the line. I just hope you enjoyed and please tell me what I can do to improve. (By the way Explorers of Sky is my favorite game of all time so I think this will be a fun journey with this story).
