"The pages on this book are missing." Fakir muttered under his breath. He just stared at for a moment before Usura came in, banging her drums softly.
"Zura? What dose it mean when 'Duck goes well together' and 'Lovey-dovey', Zura?" she asked him. Fakir gave her a surprised look. Duck was in love? With who?
"Lovey-dovey? With who?" Then he realized he didn't really want to know. "Nevermind."
"WHAT DOES IT MEAN, ZURA?" Usura began banging her drums loudly and that annoying guy that sits below them yelled, "QUIET IN THE LIBRARY!"
"Sorry." Fakir replied. What was he going to do with Usura?
Fakir sat back down to read, but he couldn't think. Who would Duck be involved with? Didn't her world revolve around Mytho? Wasn't it Duck's job to love him? Why would she be involved with someone?
An uneasy feeling rose in the pit of Fakir's stomach as he thought of someone holding Duck romantically, giving her the smile she so sought from Mytho. It was though Fakir was…jealous. No, that can't be right. Why would he care whether or not Duck loved someone else?
It's not like he gave a thing about her. Right? He didn't like her, right?
Yet, recently, she was all he could think about. Everytime he thought about her, a chill went down his spine. She was so unusual; not like anyone he knew. She was pure, golden, just lovely, even for a small, duck-like girl. He knew her soul. Her eyes told him everything. Even if he didn't want to. She never gave up on him, She stayed by his side, even if he sent her away with insults, even if he didn't want her to.
As Usura and Fakir sat quietly, he grew to a realization: that he may be attracted to this girl. Duck. Whatever she was. He just looked at the book without an ending, his mind going blank. Finally, he carried Usura out of the library. "School yard gossip is not education." He informed her. The he looked around himself.
Bulls? Heading down the street?
"Why bulls?"
"Why so many bulls zura?"
"I don't know." he admitted. So many of them…
"Look, there's Duck zura!" his heart jumped. Duck walded toward me.
"Did something happen?" he only partly hoped she'd miss the double meaning behind his words.
"Um, well, I kinda felt like something happened, but that it didn't." She said, embarrassed.
"How very descriptive." I snapped.
"Ahhh…hey, Fakir?"
"What is it?" He asked in a resigned voice. She made a guesture. The motion of love. His heart stopped and his face blushed a little.
"What was that for?"
"Mytho did this in class today. I think that might have been the real Mytho."
"Are you lovey-dovey with Mytho, zura."
"Usura, mind your own business." Ahhh, that's right. She still belonged to Mytho. At least Princess Tutu did. But as he just looked at her, he realized. He may have just wanted Duck instead.
