I am not affiliated with the movie people, Mandy or Shane. Darnit, do I wish tho! : ) This is not really set after anything in the movie, I just wanted to do something cute with the characters, like the directors left out this scene. Tell me what you think by reviewing me, k? Thanks!
Chapter 1 - "I'd Like That."
"Its so peaceful here," Jamie spoke out bluntly as she leaned over the wooden rail and stared out towards the horizon and over the lake. "Its like a dream." Her bestest friend and true love stood by her and held her hand, his grip strengthening her courage to lean over the side and stare into the murky water below. He made her feel so strong sometimes.
"We should rent a boat, what do you think?" he said, looking into her eyes as she came back up. The brightness of his hazel eyes startled her in a way that never had before. It was as if she were looking into the eyes of a complete stranger. But a handsome and caring stranger, at that. Jamie took hold of his other hand and smiled, nodding her head in agreement.
"Mmm, I'd like that. And we could look at the stars...." she began, tilting her head in a dreaming sort of way. "And listen to the water tap the boat." he finished, a cheery smile on his face. "I'd like that." He tugged at her once and that was all she needed to trust where he was taking her. They chased one another towards the camps store and dinged the bell for assistance.
"Yes, youngun's, how can I help ya?" an old but friendly looking man came to the cashiers desk and said. Landon asked where it was he needed to go to rent a boat. "What sort of boat ya lookin' for?" the man replied, in a husky tone. Jamie looked at her boyfriend but he didn't notice her so she grabbed his waist and hugged him. He broke out into laughs and the two looked up at the man, realizing he had a broken smile on his face.
"You'se in love, aren't ya." he spoke plainly and with a deeper gruff than before. Landon grinned at the chesnut-haired girl beside him and pulled her closer to him, wrapping her arm comfortably around him. The man smiled. "Yes, sir. We're in love." he replied, relieved he could finally say it so proudly. Whether his friends accepted them any more didn't matter. They were together.
"A row boat, then." the older gentlemen said and left with a limp right leg. "I remember being in love," he began as the two teenagers tried erasing the smiles from their faces but realized it was honestly impossible. "Finest feeling in the world." The boy took a glance at the girl clinging to his side and knew it was true.
"Yes, sir, it is."
