When Inuyasha woke up he was disoriented for a moment. His senses were much sharper than normal and it took him a moment to get used to them. Normally this only happened after a new moon but last night the moon had been full. His hearing was sharper, picking up the sound of breathing and a heartbeat. His sense of smell was keener, picking up subtle scents that he had missed before. It was all a bit overwhelming. He was enveloped in a musky scent of sweat, the forest, boar and wolf. It took only a second for him to realize that the scent belonged to Kouga. He could tell from the arms around his waist that the wolf demon was still there. This caused happiness and hope to rise in him. He pulled back, careful not to wake the other male. Looking at Kouga he felt a small smile lift the edges of his mouth at the wolf's peaceful expression. Lifting up his right hand, he stilled when he noticed that the Sacred Jewel was gone. Golden eyes searched the ground around them before confirming that the item was nowhere to be found. A growl rumbled in his chest and flew from his throat as he grabbed the fur shoulder pads of Kouga's armor. This woke the black haired man up and his blue eyes flew opened, startled.

"Where is the jewel?" he demanded.

"I didn't take it Inuyasha. It must have disappeared after I made my wish. That's what you said it did, right? It granted a wish?" Kouga said. His voice was calm, unthreatened by the other's hostility. Inuyasha growled again, louder this time, and glared at Kouga.

"You made a wish! Do you have any idea what you could have done! The jewel is incredibly powerful. If your wish wasn't pure and selfless then it could have unpredictable consequences." He snapped. Kaede had made sure he knew exactly what the jewel could do if it fell into the wrong hands. He had no idea what Kouga could have possibly wished for but that did not matter at the moment. He was angry both at the wolf demon and himself. He was mad that he had dropped his guard enough for Kouga to make the wish and it was obvious why he was mad at him.

"I can assure that my wish was selfless, Inuyasha, although, our definitions of what is pure may be different. I asked the jewel to turn you into a full demon. Kagome told me that it's what you wanted to wish for if you ever got the jewel. I only want you to be happy, Inuyasha," Kouga told him.

Inuyasha was stunned into silence. Kouga had used the jewel to turn him into a full demon. He could have wished for anything but he had used the jewel to help him. His grip on the wolf demon's shoulder fur loosened until his hands were just resting there. That is when he looked at his hands. His claws were slightly longer and sharper but not much different than they had always been. The sleeves of his Fire Rat coat had fallen back slightly and he saw a bit of magenta peaking out of the fabric. Pulling his hands back, he examined his wrists. There was a single, jagged, magenta stripe on each of them. Somehow he knew that there was also an identical stripe on his cheeks and hips. He surprised Kouga by smiling at him.

"Thank you Kouga. I'm sorry I yelled at you before," the white haired demon apologized. Kouga returned his smile.

"Inuyasha, I want you and Shippo to come stay with the pack. I think it'll be good for both of you." Inuyasha's smile widened and he threw his arms around the other's neck. His enthusiasm took over his better judgment for a moment and he kissed the black haired male. Both of them were stunned. After a moment of both waiting for rejection, they relaxed into the kiss. When the need for air became too much, they pulled back and smiled at each other. Inuyasha could not wait to tell Shippo that they were finally going to have a place to stay.
