I hate disclaimers.
They make the Internet a worse place.
I mean, I can understand companies not wanting people to take their things and redistribute them, or steal their ideas, but this is RIDICULOUS! (And no, not REDONKULOUS or something like that, I speak with precise grammar.) We have to say that we don't own anything we write about, and that's just stupid.
I mean, if I write a FANFICTION for Doctor Who (which no-one who actually works with Doctor Who would), then I don't own it. It's pretty obvious. I don't need to write it on the top of the story, because people can tell. Apparently some organization assumes that not writing a disclaimer is the equivalent of saying "I AM GOD OF (INSERT TITLE HERE)!!!! LAW MEANS NOTHING TO ME!!! I CRUSH ALL IN MY PATH!!!" Frankly, I didn't realize that this was necessary on my late DeviantArt account, and that is very sad.
You know what would be funny? What if someone actually strode into (metaphorically), and wrote that they actually own what they should put in the disclaimer? Wouldn't that make it a "claimer"?
Regardless, I'm too tired and hungry to write now (yes, even the nerd requires sustenance).
Goodbye.
