Apparently, these two needed to have some type of discussion, in my head, at 2am.

I Will Go Down with this Ship
"Jean, come to bed."
"Just a second, I'm working on something."
"It's two in the morning… what's got you so worked up?"
"It's for work."
"I know that, what are you working on this time?"
"It's a love story... About two tragic lovers, who part ways."
"Oh? Do tell..."
"Well, they come across great obstacles and they fight a lot, because they're so different... After a big fight, they split up for good, and the younger one finds new love."
"Tragic indeed, what happens next?"
"Well, they both go their separate ways and they don't really see each other anymore, but the older one is alone and constantly thinking about the younger one. He misses him, but he sees that his ex is happy - or seems to be. He's sad he can't be part of the other's life and regrets what he's said. But it's better this way. Or so he tells himself."
"Jean..."
"He then finds out his ex is about to marry the new guy. He's heartbroken. But he can never do anything about it. He's never been this way and he wouldn't know what to say. He hears bribes of conversation from friends and family. He knows the other is doing well."
"Please..."
He wants to be happy for the other's sake, but he can't. He's jealous, he's hurt and he wishes things would go back the way they were. He wants one more chance. He knows he'll mess up again, they'll be back to their old ways again, but that's how things work between them."
"You don't..."
"Luckily they meet, by accident, one day. They talk. It's awkward at first, but the old flame is still there. It never really got extinguished. Both of them always felt strongly for the other, but they both got hurt badly in the last dispute and needed time. They know what the other has done to them, but they decide to give it another chance. Maybe this time it'll work out..."
Oliver looks at Jean and sits on his lap. He takes Jean's face between his hands and looks straight in his eyes.
"It's all over... I'm with you now..."
"I know..."
"I'll be with you forever and ever, this time."
"Hmm, let's start with today and we'll worry about tomorrow, when it gets here."
"Okay, but first come to bed.
Jean nods and follows Oliver to bed - their room, where they both belong together."
