A/N: Bonjour mes amis :) I got this story about 45 minutes ago by seeing my gray zip-up sweatshirt laying on the back of a chair. I thought this would be a cute fic to write. And also because I don't feel like doing my math and French homework :/ I hope you enjoy! Please read and review!
You know you need to get out more when... You get upset you invited a friend over for New Year's Eve because you're in the middle of NCIS when they arrive.

The Gray Sweatshirt
When the director of NCIS Jennifer Shepard walked into her Georgetown home she automatically felt lonely. It wasn't a normal feeling anymore. Especially since she began dating a certain Special Agent that she couldn't resist.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs, said Special Agent, was away at a conference the SecNav was making all heads of departments attend in Los Angeles.
He was away for three nights and it was night two. It seems he just kind of moved into her home without any major discussion. Although they really didn't talk about moving in and marriage, they both knew they were in this relationship for the long hall this time around.
After making herself a nice cup of coffee and heating up the lasagna Naomi left for her on the counter, Jenny went up to change.
Sitting on the door knob to the closet was Jethro's gray zip-up sweatshirt. Although it really wasn't his anymore. Jenny commandeered it about three months into their relationship. Sometimes when Jethro got up early he would steal it back, but for the most part it was Jenny's.
She changed into a pair of yoga shorts and a tank top, then threw on the gray sweatshirt. She also grabbed a pillow from her bed to bring down so she could rest her head on it. She loved to bring a pillow down with her to watch TV on her couch and curl up under a big blue, fuzzy and soft blanket she got a year ago.
When she put her left hand into the pocket Jenny felt something crinkly. Pulling it out, she found a small piece of paper tucked into her hand.
'Dear Jen,
I miss you too babe. I'll be home soon. I know I'm not gone yet, but I already miss you like crazy. I love you so much, and the thought of being apart from you seems impossible. But when I get home you and I are going to snuggle on the couch watch a movie. And because I know you so well, I know you're going to go snuggle on the couch with your huge blue blanket and a pillow from your room. Just remember to go upstairs to sleep. We both know your neck hurts the day after.
Forever yours,
Jethro'
With a smile on her face, Jenny pulled out her cell phone and dialed the oh-so-familiar number she could never forget.
After two rings he picked up?
"Gibbs"
"Hey sweetie. How's Los Angeles?"
"Hey babe. It's hot. And lonely. I wish you were with me."
"I know, I do too. I just wanted to call and say I miss you."
"I miss you too, Jen. I take it you found my note in my hoodie?"
"Yes, in fact I did," she said with a laugh.
And for the next hour, Jenny Shepard didn't feel as lonely as she did when she first arrived home. And she had the love of her life thousands of miles away to thank for that.
A/N2: The blanket I was trying to describe is the blanket I always use when I lounge on the couch downstairs. I also take a pillow from my room too :)
