I had faith, more than faith actually. I knew they would be fine when I left. There was no doubt in my mind they would make it on their own. They were strong, they were brave. Their powers were still growing when I last saw them. I had faith. And I still do.

We entered the Seretei as quickly as we could, Urahara and I. He had a plan that was sure to work. He always did. But something stopped me from following him. This sense. This missing spiritual pressure I was once so accustomed to. No, it wasn't completely gone but it was surely changed. I assured Urahara I would meet with him soon, with a back up plan in mind. Then, I took off after the other direction.

I wasn't gonna lie if I said I didn't feel slightly panicked. He couldn't be dead. No, he couldn't. He was too strong, too gifted. I raced to find a place of ruin. Mayuri Kurotsuchi standing there with the Captains and Vice captains of different squads. Then I saw her. Her usual pink glowing skin, sunken in and drained till it was grey. Her eyes, non existent. She was looking at me, looking past me. What had this crazed scientist done to them?

I followed past him and saw a small, shrunken, shaking figure by his feet.

No.

Mayuri was speaking to me but I didn't listen as I approached the current Squad 10 captain, seeing his skin as equally as dark. His body equally sunken in. But, he had life. His mouth pulled back in a snarl, his eyes shaking in fear, and his body clenched with pain. He still had life. Mayuri handed me something small. A tiny veil with some strange liquid and instructed me to give it to Rangiku and that Toushiro was fighting for life.

I wasn't too sure what happened to either of them or why. But that was not my concern. The strain of Hitsugaya's body was enough to tell me the battle he was having with the infection, the medicine, and himself. I needed to help him.

I quickly pulled him into my arms and lifted him as if he was air. His struggles were minor, pain more his concern. Mayuri instructed Matsumoto to follow. I would take them somewhere to recover, to heal and be ready to battle.

"C-captain..Isshin..." His voice sounded so broken. I looked down at him. His eyes use to be filled with so much power, determination, were turned into these small pathetic pebbles of worry and regret. I looked straight ahead, hearing Matsumoto right behind me.

"Toushiro, no need to worry anymore. I am going to help you..to release the full power of your Zanpakuto." Although I was certain none of my words reached his ears as his body started to convulse once again, but it was a promise I would keep.

Ichigo was my first son born. Toushiro was my first son by choice. And I will do anything in my power to make sure they both succeed and protect just as they were put on this world to do.

A/N: Just a small little Drabble I put together in the wish of some serious feels with the 10th division reunion. I hope you enjoyed! -F
