The Fault in our Stars Quote Analysis
Quote:
"That's the thing about pain," Augustus said, and then glanced back at me. "It demands to be felt."
Summary:
This was said at the end of chapter four after Isaac went berserk at Augustus's house. Isaac was angered and started at first, kicking and abusing a chair at Augustus's house. He then started slamming a pillow at the wall which was the start of my post "A Party at Augustus's House."
Then Augustus encouraged Isaac to destroy something that will break, which was his basketball trophies. During my last post, I changed the scene to a pillow fight which would be an alternative path in the story.
Quote Analysis:
When I came across this quote, I was fascinated by how this reflects on our lives. When we burn our finger, the pain feels everlasting. It then settles as day passes. Throughout those days, there is absolutely no way of relieving it, leaving you with the feeling of pain. This pain demands you to suffer the mistake that you made. It demands you to learn from your mistakes because next time, it may not show any mercy.
