Her Eyes

Her eyes were never her favorite feature. From what she hears, they're just two plain green glass orbs that don't see. No one's ever asked about her eyes. No one's ever mentioned them, other that her. She's never wanted to actually see anything. She's been happy with her earthbending, but now, she wants to see more than anything.

She wants to be able to see his face, his eyes, him. She wants to see his lips move when he speaks. She wants to see the steps he takes. She wants to be able to see like he does...

But that'll never happen. She's blind, She's always been blind, and she always will be blind. It's been five years, and she still can't grasp the fact she'll never be able to see him. She doesn't have the slightest idea of what he looks like, other than his scar. That's all she knows about him. She might as well give up. He's in love with someone else anyway, not her.

He sees her as his little sister, just like everyone else, but that's not what she sees in him. It's been five years, and why can't she seem to forget him? She's lived here, in her parent's house, once again shut off from the rest of the world, for five years, and yet, she can't forget his voice, how he walks, and how he is.

She would never be able to walk freely again. She wanted to be able to see, so that her parents wouldn't have to hide her, and so that she could visit him.

But she knows that if she weren't blind, the Avatar wouldn't have taken interest in her. She would have been just like any other little girl in the Earth Kingdom, and she would have never met him. She's got nothing to do now, being stuck in this wooden room and all. No one knows she's here other than her parents.

It's been five years, and how come not one of her friends came looking for her? Or even cared enough to visit? What had her parents done. Her sightless eyes began to tear, something they rarely did. She just sat on her bed, hugging her knees, helpless. She didn't bother to try to escape. She did throw a tantrum or two when they frst locked her up, but after a while, she found it was of no help.

She cried more, and her glass orbs were stinging. He probably forgot about her, since he had only known her a short time. She continued to sit still. Her parents never, as in, never let her out of this room. They came in occasionally and her food was brought it. There was nothing here for her to bend. Nothing.

She should give it up already. She's been hoping someone would burst through that door, but five years of waiting did nothing to help her pride. She sat in her little room, hope fading every waking second. Maybe someone will save her one day, but for now, she'll sit here, hugging her knees, waiting.

Yay! My first oneshot! Well, actually, it's a long drabble, but you know what I mean. R&R! :D
