Cloudtail's Kin
Marla's paws dragged along the black thunderpath.
A thunder monster blazed along . Marla only winced to the side knowing it would not veer off its path.
The black path turned to dirt almost instantly, and Marla looked up in the gathering darkness.
Their was a fence in front of her, and beyond that, the barn.
I made it! The kittypet thought.
She leaped on top of the fence and balanced herself.
The barn was on the other side. But seeing it would take to long to walk along the fence she sprinted across the arena, dodging, the whining horses glomping hooves.
She paused and stopped to catch her breath on the fence on the other side.
Cloudtail! He had to be only a couple days away now! I can't give up.
Marla leaped down and nearly was squashed twice by those stupid horses.
I've had enough of those beasts. Marla thought.
Behind the barn a forest grew lush, despite the cold leafbare.
"Anything but more of those horses." Marla grumbled and shot into the undergrowth.
Marla woke in the middle of the night.
"What the- are you mousebrained." A voice said.
She must of rolled on top of Princess and Timothy was now trying to wake her up and get her off their mother.
"Sorry Timmy," She mumbled, rolling over.
"Who?" The voice replied.
Marla's eyes shot open to see a broad shouldered, black and white tom. She remebered her journey to find her brother now.
In the dark, he almost looked like Timmy; except Timmy wasn't as muscular, and he haddark brown fur, and lighter brown spots.
"Who are you?" She asked sitting up straight.
"No time to explain, you somehow found this badgers den safe to sleep in, so unless you want to be crowfood follow me." He growled.
The stranger lead Marla out of the forest and to a barn full of hay next to the main barn. They climbed up a wooden plank to the second level, then to a corner in the back.
They hay served as a guard from the outside world to a little peacful area. At the back, there was a hole that lead to the gutter, nearly overflowing with water, the barn was full with mice.
Four nests sat in the middle, two which were full.
One had a white she-cat with brown speckles along her spine, brown paws, and a brown muzzle. Surrounding her where four mewling kits. In the nest beside her was what seemed to be her mate rounding up the kits with his tail and pushing them back to their mother, their eyes where still closed.
The tom himself was light gray with two darker grays flecking his pelt. His paws wherea charcoal color, and his muzzle was white.
"Their visitors." The black and white tom hissed. "This is Petaldawn, her mate Frischeart, and their kits Rainkit, Snowkit, Dewkit, and Hailkit."
"Are you clan cats?" Marla mewed.
Frischeart shook his head. "C.J. lets anyone stay here and rest on a journey. We were traveling to a barn not far from here."
"But are ancestors were clan cats, how'd you know about them?" Petaldawn mewed.
"I'm looking for my brother, he was born a kittypet, but my mother gave him to her brother's clan." Marla explained.
"So what's your name?" C.J. asked pushing a mouse over to her from where a pile lay, stocked with mice
"Right then that other nest next to Petaldawn's is Sol's, but he left yesterday. So you can sleep there." C.J. mewed.
"Alright, let me just get this dust out of my fur."
Marla leaped into the nest and looked at her now clean icy gray fur.
She was asleep in an instant.
