So someone on tumblr asked me to do a prompt for them and so I did.

Prompt: 'Could you write a short fic where Finn and Izzy bond over something?'

8 hours. The time between the end of the party and the morning-after debrief.

The night out hadn't gone to plan and there was little Finn could remember other than that. As he strolled along the footpaths on his way to the chippy, small reminders of the night before began to swim around in his head.

"Ya dunt own me, Finn," Rae had snapped, pushing him away8 after Finn had flashed a jealous look in her direction whilst she was dancing up against some random bloke.

He continued to walk, humming along to the music that played through his headphones. To die by your side is such a heavenly way to die. It was a relief to hear 'The Smiths' after the shitty music that had been playing in the club. Finn finally reached the chippy and stumbled in, in his hungover state. The boy, looking tired and pale looked upwards and towards the table the gang would usually sit at. Izzy was sat there alone, staring down at her phone and twirling strands of her long, ginger hair around her fingers.

"Y'alright?" Finn asked, shocked she was the only one there. If there was only going to be one person there he'd have expected it to've been Archie. "Where'd the others get to?" Izzy simply shrugged her shoulders and continued what she'd been doing before Finn appeared. She looked up when she noticed Finn staring at her, still waiting for an answer.

"Maybe they're… sleeping," she said quietly, in her girly voice, with another shrug of the shoulders.

"Ya dunno where Chop is? Or Arch? Arch never misses the debrief. Know's I'll kill 'im if he does," Finn questioned, chuckling at the end of his sentence. He thought Chop and Izzy were an item now. Izzy shook her head and then questioned him back.

"Well what about Rae? Shouldn't you know where she is?" This time Finn was the one to shrug his shoulders. He didn't really want to go into it too much.

"Think she's in a mood with me after last night… Kinda had a bit of a fight or summat… Can't exactly remember." That finally gained Izzy's full attention. She put her phone back in her pocket and rested her arms on the table, moving her head closer to Finn's so that she wasn't having to shout. She didn't want one of the others to walk in and hear and saying something even the slightest mean wasn't something she did often.

"Same thing happened to Chop and I. Think that's why he ain't here," she told Finn, quieting her voice.

"You an' Chop? Fightin'? Thought ya guys were like the perfect couple," Finn replied, with a bit of a surprised face. He couldn't imagine Izzy arguing with someone. Izzy shrugged again. She seemed nervous around Finn. It wasn't often the two of them were left alone together and as the two worse talkers of the group it felt somewhat awkward for a while.

"Thought the same about you and Rae. We all do," Izzy said with a smile whilst nodding. "You guys will fix it, won't you?" For a second Izzy sounded more worried about Finn and Rae's relationship than her own. That was Izzy though. She always seemed to care about everyone else more than herself.

"S'pose," Finn nodded. "We-urm-we never really hang out, do we, ey? Just the two of us, I mean. I feel like I know the others like the back of me hand. Not you though…"

"Guess not," Izzy replied, timidly.

"You're a sweet girl, Izz'. We should get to know each other a bit. I ain't-I ain't no good with talkin' an' all that shit. But I can try. Ya know?" A smile burst onto Izzy's face as she heard Finn say those words. "And Chop's lucky to 'ave ya, alright? So y'all work it out. I'm sure."

"Rae's lucky too," Izzy replied, with her usual, large grin still noticeable on her face. She leant over the table further and kissed Finn softly on the cheek. "And us, we'll totally have fun and hang out more. It's a deal."
