Summary: "'I forgive you.' He had left the building long ago, yet Flint still stood there, the words reverberating in his mind." Ficlet about the Sandman and how greatly forgiveness affected him.
"I forgive you."
He had left the building long ago, yet Flint still stood there, the words reverberating in his mind. He blinked back tears, his heart heavy. He'd wanted forgiveness for so long, but how could that masked hero find it in his heart to forgive him? The Sandman. How could he let go of the pain he had caused and forgive him for murdering a man so important to him?
The memories of what he'd done sent chills down his spine. Him. Flint Marko. Forgiven for a crime that had haunted him for so long.
It had been an accident. If he could take it back…If he could do that day all over again he wouldn't have gone near the man. He would've found another car. Shoot, he wouldn't have even loaded the gun…but it was over, and there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn't change it.
He'd been forgiven by the person that had been so greatly effected by his victim's death. But he didn't feel any better. Maybe now that he had Spiderman's forgiveness, he needed the forgiveness of the only person left to give it. Himself. Maybe then the pain would go away
A/n: This was my very first Spiderman fic. I was inspired to rite it when I saw the end of Spiderman 3. I LOVED that movie, plus I'm a huge super hero buff. ;) Please tell me how this was and review! I hope to get at least five reviews, so help me get to it! If I get over, that'd be a miracle…to me anyway. :D
