Some say that your future is set in stone while others believe that it's your own descisions that determine the course of your life. I am more than happy with my descisions and keeping dear Nessie was one of them. Now that I have her, I can't comprehend how life would have been without her.
It's been 6 months since she was almost taken away from me by the Volturi but now peace has seemed to finally set in. However the time has come when the Cullens {I consider myself one of them now} need to leave Forks. I can't even bear to think how hard it would be for me to leave Charlie, Angela and every one else who has grown so close to me in the past two years.
But still, in my heart, I know that this is what I really want, to keep my love, Edward and my little miracle of a daughter.
I like the sound of that; daughter and to know that she'll always be mine. It was drizzling out with an overcast sky as I woke Nessie for breakfast. She prefers to hunt than to be bottle fed but we had no time for that today. It was decided a few weeks ago that Edward, Jasper, Alice, Nessie, Jacob and I would leave town first on the college reason. Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie and Emmet would follow after Carlisle resigns to 'a new job in Washington'. We'd leave the house untouched as we were certain that we would return in a few hundred years when we were sure that everyone we knew had died. Charlie already knew I was leaving but he was still under the impression that I'd be attending college.
I buckled Nessie to the passenger seat of my Ferrari and sped my way to Charlie's. I took a long look back at the Cullen house as it was the last time I would see it for a long time. I wouldn't return; I go straight to the airport from Charlie's and meet the others there. I didn't think I could bear to see Charlie knowing that I'd probably never see him again but he'd wanted to say his last goodbyes and to me and Nessie; how could I deny him that? Charlie was waiting for us right at the end of the driveway. I deftly unbuckled Nessie and got out. She meant the world to Charlie and he would do anything for her. As we entered the house, a giant teddy bear sat in the hallway with a heart shaped smile. " Thought Nessie'd like it. You know, then she can remember me no matter where she is" he shrugged, biting his lower lip, clearly embarassed. "That's great dad, I'm sure she'll love it" I replied with a chuckle.
Before I knew it, he had gripped me in a vise tight hug. "I'm going to miss having you around Bells." he whispered with a sad note in his voice. " I'll try to visit a lot, Dad, but college's going to be pretty packed tight" I said with a small sniff. "When's your flight, you'll miss it if you don't hurry"
Charlie insantly changed the subject to a lighter one. "Yeah, I'd better be going Dad, love you".
"Love you to Bells, and you too my little Nessie" he cooed, unashamed. I picked Nessie up on one hand and carried her new, over-sized stuffed toy which bearly fit through the car door. I took a long look at Charlie, now standing at the doorway, waving. I am going to miss this town
