"John don't you see?"
"See what?"
"It was the albatross!"
"Come again?"
Sherlock rolled his eyes.
"As usual you see but do not observe." As Sherlock launched into his speed of light explanation John was simply trying to stay awake. Whilst Sherlock never seemed to need sleep John was the opposite and it had been a long, sleepless week. A new record, John noted. "-so the wife must have been connected. See?"
John, who hadn't followed a word, just nodded and smiled.
"Of course."
"Come on, we have to pay another visit to Scotland Yard." Sherlock said, heading towards the door. It took him a few minutes to realise that John wasn't following. "John?"
He turned to find the doctor fast asleep on the table and for all his claiming to be a sociopath Sherlock couldn't quite bring himself to wake his flatmate up.
