time it took us
to where the water was
that's what the water gave me
and time goes quicker
between the two of us
but oh, my love, don't forget me
i let the water take me
- what the water gave me, florence + the machine
There's a point in a person's life when consciousness departs and raw instinct arrives. It's the point when you're running away from something and fall down, and you just shut your eyes because if you can't see the danger of the nearby ground then it's not really there.
Yue wanted nothing more than to run away, have the problem solve itself. Have her father's advisors deal with the issue at hand, and she could watch them from afar, relief filling her veins.
She was numb. In all senses of the word. She couldn't feel Sokka's hand let go of hers until his warmth faded away, couldn't feel Katara's eyes upon her until she saw darkness.
It was only her and La now, about to begin an eternal dance. Tui had given her life. Now it was her turn.
Yue hadn't always felt this weight on her shoulders. Once upon a time, Yue was a little girl who's tongue got stuck to ice every harsh, cold winter. Turquoise was once her favorite color.
She liked to think that the last face she saw was Sokka's.
Silence came. And it was absolute.
Author's Note: Wow. I just, I can't stop listening to What The Water Gave Me by Florence + The Machine. It is so perfect for Yue.
Today I committed a sin. I watched The Last Airbender movie. It was really terrible. Don't watch it.
However, the one part that was good was when Yue became the moon spirit. To be honest, I actually liked it more than in the series. Seychelle Gabriel is just flawless. She is literally the perfect Yue, and when I found out she voices Asami...well, I just died. Hope you enjoyed my oneshot. Don't forget to review! :)
