"Hey, Sam," He had asked. "Do you remember senior prom?"

-------------

" - And make sure she's back before eleven, Fenton! I know where you live!" Those had been the last words that had come out of the Manson's front door before it was rudely shut.

It had been several minutes since Danny and Sam left the Manson's front porch for the senior prom but Danny was still shaking from the short, tense small talk/warning from Sam's father.

"He's going to kill me."

"What?"

"The restraining order was just the beginning . One of these days he's going to decide, once and for all, that you need to 'stay with those of your station' or something, and he'll hire someone to sneak in and kill me in my sleep."

"Danny that's ridiculous." Sam replied, more than a little unsure.

"You're right; that's more your mother's style."

"Danny!"

"Sorry. I'm just a little…jittery, that's all. He scares me."

"Don't worry, Danny. I will personally make sure neither of my parents kill you in your sleep."

"The other thing I'm afraid of is a ghost attacking the school tonight. Somehow ghosts seem to choose days that mean something to me to attack."

Sam laughed, crystal clear. He loved that laugh. "True, but if that happens, I don't mind helping you round up a few ghosts." She replied. "Come on, Danny, go ghost. I want to fly." Danny shrugged, saying, "Okay, if you insist," He pulled them into a nearby convienient alley, made sure no one was around to witness his transformation, then went ghost. He laced his arm around Sam's waist, then took off.

A few blocks later…

Paulina looked up to the sky just in time to see Danny Phantom – her beloved Phantom – flying alongside Sam Manson, of all people. She pointed, screamed, then fainted promptly.

Meanwhile…

Sam laughed nastily. Danny raised an eyebrow. "What's up, Sam?" Sam smirked smugly, then nudged her head in Paulina's direction. Danny watched Paulina scream and faint. "Do you think we should help her?" He asked, slightly concerned. "We can't just leave her to get trampled on." He then recalled the conversation he had had with Sam the other day (concerning the time Paulina went out with him just to 'steal him away from Sam') and said, "Then again, after all she did to me…" Sam laughed and swatted at his head playfully. He grinned his lopsided grin at her, then continued their journey to Casper High.

Casper High…

Danny and Sam touched down in a few bushes as Danny transformed into his human form. He bowed, extending his arm, saying, "Shall we?" Sam, smiling, played along, replying with, "We shall," Then, smiling, the two walked into the school hall.

A chorus of 'Aww's sounded through the hall as the couple walked in. They blushed. Sam noticed that Tucker was among the crowd who had exclaimed. She tapped Danny's shoulder and looked from his face to Tucker's meaningfully. He caught her unsaid meaning and smirked. They then purposefully strode toward Tucker and his date.

"Hi Tucker, Valerie!" Danny said loudly. "Who would've thought you two would be here together?" Sam continued, just as loudly as her boyfriend's. Everybody's attention turned to Tucker and Valerie. While everybody was cooing over them, Danny and Sam quickly ducked under the crowds with a slight intangibility bonus.

Three hours of dancing, catfights, cooing, kissing and punch-drinking later, Danny flew Sam home. "See you tomorrow, Danny. I had a great time tonight." They then shared a sweet kiss, then Sam winked and disappeared into her home.

Somehow, remembering this experience plastered a big grin on both of their faces. Their tweenage children loved a good romance story, especially when their parents told them about their own experiences – in third person, of course – and adored Danny Phantom's teen stories.
