Notes: Pinters and Rags are fandom names for the two. And it just seems like they would call each other this.

Normally, Ragetti was in the front of the line, helping everything get on board in an orderly fashion. Or at least as orderly as one could get with his visual impairment. But as Pintel passed the goat to the next person in line, he couldn't spot his tall, lanky friend. Putting the last barrel of rum below deck, which made the total a good two-dozen, Pintel took a break to try to find him.
In the bunks, in the far corner of the room sat Ragetti, rocking himself back and forth, as he always did when something major was on his mind. Caution was best when finding him in this state; Pintel had learned that in the past.
Acting like he was checking his bunk for something, he turned to Ragetti, "What's got into you?"
Sure it was rough, but that was his way. And anyway, Ragetti knew what he really meant.
Ragetti shrugged, and Pintel took a step towards his friend, Ragetti had his system and so far, he was following it simply.
"Ragsā¦" This tone was special, something that he saved for those moments where he was not being Ragetti's older friend but more of a family member.
Shrugging again, Ragetti took out his wooden eye, rolling it between his fingers, another way of saying that he was extremely uncomfortable. "I jus' don't want to go to some unknowns place, do I?"
"You know we have to. If we want to be mortal again and not be all skeletons in the moonlight." Sitting beside him, he nudged him, "And you have that list, didn't you?"
A small smile formed on Ragetti's lips, "Yeah, Pinters, you're right. I always did want that glass eye and to eat a whole pie by meself." He unsteady but joyful laughter rang out through the empty bunks, "Mum never did approve."
"And we'll get it. We just have to go get a few more pieces of that gold and then we're rid of the curse." Casting a sideways glance at his friend, he grinned, "So it's not so bad then, is it? And, anyway, I got your back." Watching Ragetti grin, he smiled himself, "Now, let's go see if we can nip a few bottles of rum for ourselves just in case we get rid of that curse extra early."
