Okay everyone this is my first story. Constructive criticism is welcomed. This is a dream I had one night and have been trying to think of a good ending for it, so I thought writing it as a story might help. This story can be perceived as taken right after the Dark World without Thor leaving for earth at the end, or years later. That choice is up to you. No slash in this story. Just angst and brotherly love.

Disclaimer: I sadly don't own the characters in this story- marvel does.

Things to note: italics indicate a flashback.

Title: I Turn to You

Introduction

Loki lied, plain and simple. He was the God of Lies and it came as naturally as breathing. However, lying to himself was more difficult than anything he ever tried to do. Loki always thought he hated Thor. Well not always, there was a time when he truly loved Thor more dearly than any other on Asgard. Ever since Loki had found out the truth of his parentage, he had tried harder and harder to not think of Thor as his brother but as an enemy. He put all the hate into his words and tried to convince Thor that he had given up their brotherly relationship for good. Loki honestly believed that he hated Thor, but there were moments where unwanted memories would creep into the crevices of his mind. There were moments like right now as Thor stared him straight in the face and with the most conviction he had ever seen the elder wear, told Loki they weren't brothers and wanted to move on with their lives separately. Loki should be throwing a party, right? I mean he wanted Thor to hate him like he hated Thor.

It had been 3 days since he had last spoken to Thor. 3 long, boring days with absolutely no company at all. Loki was used to Thor rambling on to him, trying to convince him to do something together or telling him how they were still brothers despite the fact they didn't share the same parents. It had annoyed Loki to no end. Now that it had been 3 days since he had heard Thor pitch these lines to him, he was starting to play the scenes over and over in his head.

Why though? Why? Loki hated Thor. They weren't brothers for real and Thor didn't truly care for him. So, why did Loki feel like he had been stabbed in his heart with a dagger when he saw Thor with his replacement? Replacement you ask. Well Cade is the one being referred to. He is around the same age as Loki, but was a lot like Thor. His bro- Thor had been doing everything with Cade lately and thought Loki wouldn't admit it out loud, he was extremely jealous. Especially when his nightmares came back full blown and he had absolutely no one to turn to for guidance or comfort. Maybe Loki needed his big brother after all.

Author's note. How did you like it? This was just the introduction. I have the first few chapters written out. Please review and tell me what you think. I will update as often as I can. Cade is the only character I own. The next chapter or 2 will be similar to the introduction. Chapter 4 or 5 is where the actual story plot will come in. so please bear with me.
