Hotch has wanted to be with Emily for longer than he could remember. He was finally ready to make her his. He just hoped that she would go along with him because if she didn't then he wasn't sure how well he would be able to take the rejection. It felt as if he had loved Emily for all of his life.
He smiled as he led her into the restaurant that he had chosen. They always went out once a week since they had become really close friends. But tonight was different than any other night that they went out. This time he actually planned everything out to the last detail. Instead of taking her out for Chinese, Indian or Italian he was taking her to a nice restaurant. He wanted her to know how special she was to him.
As soon as they were seated Emily looked at Hotch and said "Hotch you didn't have to bring me to a nice restaurant. One of the ones we usually go to would have been fine. I'm not going out to eat with you for the food. I'm going out to eat with you because I like spending time with you."
Hotch smiled and reached across the table to grab one of Emily's hands in his own as he took a deep breath. "Emily, I brought you hear for a reason. I have to say this now before I lose my courage. All I think about is you. You are on my mind twenty four hours a day seven days a week. I love you Emily and loving you is easy to do. If you'll let me because in my mind I just call you mine I would like to be able to do that out loud as well."
Emily smiled at Hotch and pulled his hand to her mouth and kissed it. "I love you too Hotch. I would love for you to just call me yours. You are all I think about too and loving you is just like breathing for me. Of course I will be yours. In my mind and heart I was already yours."
Hotch smiled and stood up a little and leaned across the table and kissed Emily tenderly.
