Misa Amane slouches, sinking into the back of her plush chair. She watches the scenery scroll by as the train chugs through the countryside. The afternoon sun brushes it's fingers over the grassy scenery illuminating the farm animals grazing peacefully in the pastures. Misa sighs and averts her eyes from the scenery, instead focusing on her fingernails that have been delicately painted the colour of a midnight sky. She painted them this morning, to match her outfit. Misa had specially picked out a black and white dress and chunky platform shoes. She paired it with a dainty white headpiece and thick grey earrings shaped like the christian cross. On her face she had heavily applied ruby red lipstick and foundation which wasn't doing a very good job at hiding the weary look on her face.

Her face seemed to have rearranged itself into a mask of depression and dejection, ever since Light had died. As his face ran through her mind Misa felt a wave of emotion launch an

attack on the heartstrings. She had been living without Light for a total of 3 months now, she had been living in a dark hole for the past three months.

The train grinded to a halt and a voice came over the loudspeaker, "We have arrived our last destination, please exit the train." Misa gathers herself from her seat and drags herself out of the train. She turns left at the train station and drifts absent-mindedly down the road. Overhead, birds swoop by and Misa takes a minute to observe the scenery. She leans over the pier and watches the waves wash over the rocks in a rhythmical pattern.

After inhaling a decent amount of salt air she moves on towards the abandoned barn that is her destination. With every step forward she takes her pent up emotions threaten to spill over. She approaches the rusty maroon door and tugs open the bulky door. Her breath catches in her chest as she enters the building. The room is damp and Misa spots mice, retreating into the corners.

She grins for what feels like the first time in a lifetime, she can feel him in the room. Misa can just imagine Light wrapping his arms around her, making her feel safe but the illusion is over all too quickly. In the corner of her eye she spots a puddle of dry blood. Bile rises in Misas throat. Feeling satisfied she leaves the building and walks to her final destination.

Misa floats over to the entrance of the skyscraper runs her fingers over the railing and begins the climb to the top. Her shoes make an obnoxious click clacking noise as she climbs. Half an hour later she finds herself at the top. Misa lets out a sigh of relief as she feels the crisp air run it's fingers through the tendrils of her hair. Tears well in her tear ducts and she lets them roll down her face and they race down her cheeks and land on her dress.

Misa leans over the side of the building and stares down towards the ground, which is extremely far away. Misa ignores the dizzy butterflies that are bouncing around her stomach and she climbs over the railing against her common sense. Her body teeters on the edge of the platform and she inhales, filling her lungs with air before she pushes against the rail and launches herself off the platform.

Misa sails through the air with a sad smile spread across her face. She doesn't have to suffer any more, it's over. The wind forces her downwards and she lets the ground envelope her and the darkness swallows her whole. Taking her to a better place.
