In the time before time, orcs roamed the land. All was darkness. It was a time of woes. It was a time of doom. It was a time of wolves. Mankind was prey.
The Saga of Sigmar (excerpt)
A Time of Wolves
They drove us from our apex,
They sent us from their land.
Once was our prey divided,
Now they'd chose to stand.
…
Some of us entered forest,
Others headed east.
No more were we the hunters,
No more could we feast.
…
Perhaps we'd grown complacent,
Of manflesh had our fill.
Become fat and soft and idle,
Lost our means to kill.
…
Millennia is indeed much time,
But we can choose to wait.
Sustained by need for meat,
Sustained by sense of hate.
…
This "Empire" will come to fall,
And that day is coming fast.
Chaos, greenskins, other threats,
Against these foes it cannot last.
…
And we wolves will have our share of meat,
Destroy what they hold deer.
Tear out their throats, regain our place,
Again they'll feel fear.
