He looked down on those disgusting olive eyes. He saw the tears streaming from them as they looked up at his own purple ones. He considered the choices for a moment before stepping back and allowing her a path to freedom. He smiled as he allowed the smaller troll a chance to escape into the labyrinth of the asteroid. His smile widened further as he considered the possibilities. This could be fun.
She was so scared. Those terrible, frozen purple eyes. The blue blood splattered on his clothing and the bronze blood on his lips would have shocked her if she hadn't been so scared already. She desperately looked for a way out. Then, the murderer moved to the side; just enough to give her a path. She caught a glimpse of him smiling as she ran by.
The olive blood looked up at him one more time and then ran. She paused for just a second to grab her hat from the other peasant blood and then ran as fast as she could. Gamzee knew he was faster so he took his time swooping down and grabbing the peasant bloods eyewear.
Where to run? Where to hide? She could not think of anywhere. She couldn't think at all.
After he secured the peasant's eye wear , Gamzee set off along the darkened halls and passages. As he walked he skipped slightly, allowing himself to fall into a fast rhythm. He began to hum lightly as he walked along.
Running was all she could do. Just run until her strength gave out or until he caught her.
"I hate a moral coward, one who lacks a manly spark"
What?
"I just detest a man afraid to go home in the dark"
Was he singing?
"I always spend my evening where there's women wine and song"
Why did it sound oddly familiar?
"But like a man I always bring my little wife along"
She heard him singing and panicked. Something about that tune was wrong.
"I'm a member of the midnight crew"
It reminded her of dark alleys and death. It reminded her too much of blood and knives in the dark.
"I'm a night Owl and a wise bird too"
It just sounded way too casual.
"Home with the milk in the morning"
Was the song getting louder?
"Singing the same old song"
She ran even faster but still the song got louder. After running a few more paces she tripped over something and fell to the ground.
"Rise with the moon, go to bed with the sun"
It was in the same room as her now.
"Early to bed and you'll miss all the fun"
It was too dark to see, but she turned toward the source of the song.
"Bring your wife and troubles, it will never trouble you"
She felt a tingle on the back of her neck and realized her mistake too late.
"Make her a member of the midnight crew"
Her world went black.
God he loved that song.
