Gods, goddesses, Dryads, Naiads, demigods, all attended a single funeral for the only casualty in the giant war. Nico Di Angelo.

He managed to summon a typhoon as big as a city to wipe out all the giants and monsters. He died from exhaustion, and everyone was at his funeral. People were crying or generally looking sad.

Artemis's face was neutral but she held respect for the son of Hades. Percy was silently crying with Annabeth, who looked sad herself, comforting him.

Hades was crying with quiet weeping sounds coming from him every few minutes.

It was time for the speeches, first up was Percy as he stepped up to the stand and began to read from a piece of paper. The writing was in Greek so he didn't have a hard time reading it.

"People say that when Zeus created man, they have the features of two human beings. What if the other half of you was your best friend? If so, my other half would be Nico. When his sister died, I took it upon myself to act like his older brother, to be the family in his life. I hoped I did a good job at representing an older brother because I never got to know. Nico and I got into spats and acted like best friends, because we were, and I hope he knew he was one of the best friends I could ask for."

People applauded Percy as he stepped down and sat back next to go up was Thalia, who was wiping away her tears.

"Nico was one of my best friends. I don't think he ever knew that considering all we did was fight. I thought of him as a brother and just like most other people, will always remember him. I hope he enjoys his afterlife." People applauded Thalia as Hades stepped up to the stand.

"I always shunned Nico away from me, embarrassed at him. I always wished how it was Bianca that lived and not Nico. After the titan war I opened up to him more. I kept opening myself up to him all the way until his death and I felt we had a better relationship. All I know now is that he is with Bianca in the underworld."

AN: In this one shot, Bianca didn't try for rebirth.

People clapped as Hades sat down. Next up was Hazel.

"Ever since Nico got me out of the underworld, he had been a big brother to me. He got me into the legion after figuring out my real heritage, or rather being stopped by Hades," People chuckled. "and was always there for me if I found life to hard. He helped me learn the new England language after I was stuck say Tis and Twas, thy and thee, and taught me about other new things like chicken nuggets and tank tops. I always thanked him for that, and I hope he does enjoy his afterlife."

Everyone was too emotional to say anything, and so Percy, Hades, Hazel and Thalia, all grabbed a stick, placed it in the fire and burnt Nico's shroud.

After this day, Hades or Pluto never had a kid for another hundred years. Percy never offered to be anyone's surrogate brother. Hazel never meant a thank you.

Thalia never loved anyone else.

Did you like it? With Hazel's I tried to add a little comedy to lighten up the depressing mood. And yes, the last line was meant to be on it's own, it was supposed to add effect.
