Disclaimer: I own nothing. Which is kinda sad.
Sawyer didn't cry. James did.
Sawyer preyed on women. Sawyer stole, lied, cheated, hurt, broke hearts and just about every other despicable thing one could imagine. Sawyer didn't fall in love.
James was sensitive. James smiled a honest smile. James fell in love, was left heart broken, cried, laughed. He was the friendly side. The island put them into a worse contrast than ever before. Especially with Kate.
Sawyer shot innuendo and suggestive glances at her. Sawyer snapped at people and fought. Sawyer dished out the smart-ass remarks to people, even if it hurt them. Sawyer had no feelings.
James did. James gave shy smiles around Kate. James wanted to help out. James was heart broken every time Kate talked to the Doctor. James wanted to be out with people more often.
Sawyer didn't like James.
After the two gunshots that had ended his childhood, James began shrinking away. Not too noticeably at first, but slowly, gradually, he became Sawyer. Sawyer lorded over James. Sawyer did all the talking and made all the decisions. James didn't exist anymore. At least, Sawyer tried to make sure James didn't exist.
At times, James would break free of his prison and say something. Then Sawyer came back and beat the crap out of him. But Kate noticed. Kate could always tell when James came out, when the barriers were being left down. When she found out he wrote the letter, for example. James had almost told her his name. But Sawyer had come back at the last moment. Sawyer wouldn't let James do anything. Sawyer had no feelings.
But Sawyer hadn't killed in Australia. That was James. James was sure that man had killed his parents. James had been used. James was too trusting. But still, overall, James was better off. Kate loved James, not Sawyer. Everyone liked James but hated Sawyer.
James didn't cry. Sawyer did.
I got the idea at about 2 in the morning and decided to write it. It's pointless. It's there. Be gentle with reviews. Thank you.
