Arm Wrestling
BPOV
I was sitting in Edward's room rereading Wuthering Heights for what seemed liked the tenth time.
"Bella." I looked up at the sound of my name. Emmet had walked in. "Would you like to arm wrestle me?"
I frowned, he was asking ME to arm wrestle him? He must be desperate. "No, Emmet," I said, "And why would I? We both know I'll lose."
"Aw, you don't know that."
"Are you crazy, Emmet? You're a vampire with super strength, and I'm a human, who can barely lift 20 pounds."
"I'll go easy on you."
"No, Emmet." I made sure to emphasize the word 'no' so that he'd get the point.
"What if I change you first?" Okay, I thought, now he must be really, really desperate.
"As tempting as that offer is, I don't think Edward would like coming home to find me bitten."
"Please, Bella, Please?" He was on his knees now, begging. I shook my head, he was not going to make me yell. He stood up, grinning and said, "Well then, I'll just have to sing." Oh, God, I thought, this couldn't be good. "Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells!" It was yelling, not singing.
"STOP!" I cried, trying not to cover my ears. I'd give in, but only this once. "I'll arm wrestle you, just please stop!"
"YES!" He roared.
Sighing, I closed and put my book down and leaned over the side table to arm wrestle Emmet. At that moment Edward walked in the room. I ran to him, yes,I thought, my savior. He put his arm around me and glared at Emmet. "Emmet," he growled, "WHY did Alice have a vision of you breaking Bella's arm?!"
Emmet just shrugged his shoulders and said, "We were going to arm wrestle," like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"You, WHAT! Bella, are you alright."
"Yes Edward, even though he tortured me by singing."
"Come on, Bella, let's get you home. Emmet, I'll deal with you later." We turned around to leave and I stuck my tongue out at Emmet, so ha!
