Chapter 1 the day it all started
I wake up in the Artemis dark I can see the glow from outside it makes me feel warm somehow. All of the hunters are here they haven't been too thrilled about it they don't particularly don't like boys and since I was claimed they have hated losing a good bed to a boy. I slip out of bed and run to my closet I grab I dark blue coat and fleece and some tracksuit bottoms then my trainers. Then quietly sneak across the cabin to where I keep my swords bow and sheath then dash out the door then run strait to the woods. Once I make it to the shadows of the trees I look over my shoulder to make sure no one is following me from the cabin. I pull out an arrow and place it carefully into place readying myself for anything that could come at me I walk to this hill on the north east side of the forest. Me Emilia and Tyson are both supposed to meet me there for a good hunt. We do this every week then we sell the spoils of war to the Hermes kids for a few luxuries that we're not allowed in camp so it's a win win they can do what they're doing with that and I got a TV X box and Nintendo DS I'm happy once I reach the top the suns rising so monsters will be expecting my presence and will be looking for a fight since I can everything from the top of the hill then Emilia and Tyson come running out of the cover of the trees.
"Owen shoot the arrow now" Emilia screams
Then from behind a lion runs out of the tees I then can see where Emilia's shot at it with her bow which is broken held in her left hand. I aim straight for its eye as I would usually to blind a monster so it's easier to kill but then it blinks and the arrow bounces off I think i know what this thing is but the name I just cannot place a name but I know now how to kill it.
"Emilia shoot fire at his mouth Tyson throw a knife into its mouth so it can't close it then leave the rest to me." I shout
The stuff that happens next plays out nicely Emilia fire ball hits perfect but she had to stop running to do so it's not ideal especially that it drains so to get running again she would have to use hell of a lot of energy. Tyson throws his knife directly towards the mouth the lion opens its mouth to roar and it lodges perfectly in-between its teeth I take off into a run I go speeding down the hill then draw my swords I then stab both swords into its windpipe. It yelps in pain before becoming dust it leaves it leaves behind a very big pelt.
"do either of you know what the hell that was because I don't have a damn clue" Tyson asks.
"the Nemean lion " I say. " the lion with iron fur from the myths." I say "let's just get this to the Hermes kids so we can get into our jeans and t-shirts I don't know why we were being called to the pavilion so early though."
"neither do we but never mind as long as I can eat then have a good long sleep after." Emilia replies
We walk back Emilia and Tyson pick up knifes and arrows the shot and threw ant the lion most of the arrows are broken and some of the knifes were two but we don't care to leave them where they can be seen we drop them off at Hephaestus cabin for some of our friends that we share some of our broken tech with so they can upgrade their room. Once that's done we return to our cabins I walk into the Artemis cabin. To see silver dresses are flying all over the place. I walk to me wardrobe and instead of wearing my camp clothes I take out a navy blue top light blue jeans and a silver jacket and some trainers. Then leave the hunters to carry on getting dressed once I'm at the pavilion I see Tyson outside he's wearing camp uniform.
"why aren't you in your camp top" he asks
"well the hunters get to wear what they want so why cant I" I answer
"that's ok I guess"
" why didn't you go in" I ask
"waiting for you and Emilia" he reapplies
"hi guys"
I turn around startled by the voice ready to punch someone but it turns out to be Emilia. I stop in mid punch once I realised who it was.
"you wouldn't punch your girlfriend would you" she says
I know what you're thinking a twelve year old with a girlfriend when's that going down in flames. The thing is that we started going out two weeks ago after we helped Thanatos when the most evil souls escaped the underworld and believe me we went through a whole lot of sh*t on that quest and we went out after we were done. It's an awkward relationship yes but it's worth it we understand each other and it make's both of us happy and that's all that matters.
"Sorry I'm just a bit on edge the last time we were all called to the pavilion early was when our quest was announced" I explain
We walk in and see that almost everyone is wearing their own clothes I look at the tables most of them are full I look at the Poseidon table Percy Jackson and nine other kids sit there. the big three are now opening up to the idea of children with mortals and after four months of arguing Hera and Persephone finally caved and allowed Zeus and Hades have demigod children. Those four months not so good if you were getting married flying or dying. At the Hades along with Nico are twelve other kids Zeus has twenty kids in total on his table twenty one if you count my sister trying to live a normal life like a normal twenty eight year old has she has two kids as well. So I'm happy for her even though I'm a bit jealous but I still feel happy for her. Then I walk to the Artemis table and sit down at the end. I look at the Apollo and Thanatos table and see Emilia and Tyson having happy conversations with their cabin mates. All the hunters keep their distance except Maria daughter of Hephaestus she still sits away from me even though she's quitting next year she trying to keep it a secret and follow the rest of the hunters until then. Suddenly Chiron walks in and stomps his hoof.
"demigods I'm proud to announce the first annual mythology game." He yells. Then we walks down to the front of the room and to glass balls on either side of him both filled with names he said he was proud to announce what's about to happen but his expression says otherwise.
