Disclaimer: No, Naruto does not belong to me but Kishimoto.
A/N: "Things unsaid" by shadow shinobi inspired me to write this. Because for Naruto, there are more saddening events than what it seems. Anyway, just a fiction for enjoyment, do not flame. :)
Sarutobi Hiruzen knew it was the end for him the moment he used the forbidden jutsu, Reaper's Death Seal. But he knew that he would not go down without a fight. His own student, Orochimaru, disgraced the ancestors of Konoha, treatened the lives of his people, he would no longer hold back.
He recalled wistfully the time when he allowed his emotions to get in the way and Orochimaru took advantage of his weakness to escape. He thought previously that the only way to get back his student was to convince and persuade him off the path. However, now, he knew that the only way to get back the student he knew was to destroy this monster in front of him.
The reaper's hand that tore through his body to Orochimaru was slipping. The sword was weakening him. Sarutobi knew it. But he would not let go without taking Orochimaru with him. Orochimaru smirked evilly. His sensei was clearly an old fool who underestimated his power. The long charcoal haired man moved his finger, urging the sword to plunge deeper and deeper into his sensei's body.
Sarutobi knew he could never hold on anymore. The reaper cut whatever soul that was in its grasp. Sarutobi smiled. Without his hands, Orochimaru can never do bad. He sighed as he toppled forward. He had fulfiled his duty as hokage. Now he would rest.
"Sorry Konohamaru, grandpa is not coming back. And Naruto, I'm glad I could do what I was suppose to do on the day you were born."
He heard soft whispers. It was the voice of two of his other students, Jiraiya and Tsunade, "You can count on us now sensei."
Sarutobi Hiruzen closed his eyes. Before darkness took him, he saw Tobirama Senju and Hashirama Senju standing in front of him, giving him approving nods. Yes, he had done well. Because his teachers told him so. Now he rest. And the skies opened up as it rained.
R&R, more coming soon.
