Two Toys

She was a doll.
He was an action hero.
In all appearances they didn't match
at all, but they shared
a common sort of soul.

They were both toys:
a doll, an action hero,
both parts of cartoons,
parts of fairy tales...

Maybe even the same
fairy tale. But if not,
they could intersect,
they could share.

Their display cases were far away,
in different worlds
but he'd lost his, so all
he had to do was move in
to hers.
