Aryll stands on her Lookout tower, telescope clutched in hand. "Come on… come on…" She breathes out. She pulls her brown shawl tighter around her shoulders, and shivers as the breeze ruffles her long, blond hair.

She puts her telescope back up to her eyes, searching the horizon for a ship. Her brother's ship. "Where is it?" she says out loud, impatient. Aryll misses her brother so much, and so much has happened.

As she waits, Aryll ponders all the things she has to tell her brother. First and foremost is her engagement to Prince Komali. She laughs as she recollects the way her and Komali got to know each other. Komali was, in fact, infatuated with a different girl at the time. But… the girl was special. She had to leave. Aryll was introduced to Komali thru her brother a short time after that, and with her cute and optimistic personality, charmed Komali and helped him through his sadness. They fell in love, and Komali finally got around to asking for her hand.

Secondly was just as happy: 2 new families of seagulls had taken residence in Outset Island. Her brother would think her childish, but Aryll didn't care. She would never renounce her love of seagulls. Most people didn't like them; maybe that was the reason she loved them so much; they were the underdogs, just like her brother. But there was something about their white feathers, their smooth beaks, their chirp. It probably has to do something with my love of birds, she thought.

As she thought of the list of new, happy things, sad thoughts also crept into her mind, like her grandmother's cancer. It was the first time she saw Link cry. The funeral was beautiful, and she knew her grandmother was out of pain, in heaven, but living all alone in her house made her sad. With Link gone, and Komali wouldn't be living with her till they were married, she was lonely. Komali did his best to keep her company, and she loves him so much, but no one could fill the gap her grandmother left in her heart.

Aryll lifts her telescope to her eye again, and squeals. There was a brown ship with 2 swords on the sails. It was Link, it was Link! She throws down her shawl and climbs down the ladder. She jumps the rocks and runs to the wharf. "Link! Link!" She squeals. She pulls out her telescope, and checks the lookout. She waves at Zuko.

"Hi Zuko!" She yells. He waves back, and she jumps up and down in excitement. As the ship gets closer, she sees Niko jump onto the bowspirit, and starts to shimmy up it. "Hey Aryll!" He yells.

"Niko, be careful!" She shouts at him, but he just laughs. Oh, Niko. What a mischief-maker, Aryll thinks.

As the ship comes into port, Aryll spots Komali flying her way. She waves, but he doesn't see her. He lands on deck, and she watches thru her telescope as Komali gives Link a friendly hug. A wave of jealousy passes over Aryll, watching her fiancé hug her brother before her. Never mind, she thinks.

Soon enough, the ship crew is disembarking. Tetra first, then Gonzo, Nudge, Senza, Mako, Zuko, and Niko. At the very last is Link, with Komali flying next to him. Aryll stands right at the end of the wharf, and exchanges greetings with everyone. When Aryll comes face to face with Link, they both just stare at each other, smiling.

Link pulls her into a hug. "I missed you so much, Link!" Aryll says. She feels him hug her tighter. Aryll knew that was her brother's way of saying, "I missed you too." Link wasn't big on talking, unlike Aryll herself. Aryll smiles into her brother's shoulder, happy to be with him. She loved him just as much as Komali, differently of course.

That night, Aryll and Komali explain everything to Link, and he nods his agreement. "Yay! I'm so happy you're okay with this!" Aryll squeals.

Life hasn't always gone well for me… but at least I've got my two best men with me right now, Aryll thinks to herself, smiling.
