Lake Wissota

On the Titanic, 1912

Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt-Bukater were on the deck of Titanic. "My dad used to take me ice fishing on Lake Wissota..." Jack was saying. A big black-and-blue swirling vortex appeared directly above where the two lovers stood. A girl dressed in jeans, an Invader Zim T-shirt, pink Kangaroo shoes, and glasses clumsily fell out of the vortex. She stood up and ran her hands through her blond hair. Jack and Rose stared at this stranger, mouths slightly agape. "What the hell?" Jack asked. The girl looked at him. "I came from the future to correct you," she said pointedly.

"Wha...?"

"Your clothes...they're so strange." Rose said, looking the girl up and down. "And you're wearing pants."

The girl scowled. She hated sexists. "Yeah. It's called the 21st century."

Rose and Jack glanced at each other. They were both thinking the same thing. This is weird...

The girl sighed. "I just want to point out that Lake Wissota doesn't exist yet in your time. It was manmade a few years after this," she said. Again, the two star-crossed lovers stared.

"Well, bye!" the strange girl said cheerfully. With a jaunty wave she climbed on the rail and jumped into the swirling vortex, her left shoe falling off in the process.

"So?"

"It's a Kangaroo. They weren't first made until the 70's, but this one says '2004'."

The men stared at each other.
