My name's Gumball Watterson, and I live in what once used to be the Amazing World, Elmore. It all happened so fast... the betrayals, the surprises, the war, the losses, the defeat...
I suppose you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about. So, why don't I just start from the beginning? That seems simple enough! Except so much has happened since then that you might wonder how long it's been... which is about two years.
CHAPTER ONE
It was a plain old Tuesday. After I brushed my teeth next to Darwin, I rushed off to put on some pants and Darwin to put on his shoes. We then said our goodbyes to Mom and Dad and followed Anais to the school bus, as she had been waiting for about five minutes and was getting impatient.
As I got on the bus I noticed that some people were acting strange. Like Tina Rex and Miss Simian. It gave me the creeps. But then again, Tina Rex and Miss Simian always gave me the creeps, so I stubbornly ignored the obvious.
The bus all of a sudden ran out of gas. So Miss Simian made Tina go fill it up again. The question that everyone would've asked themselves did't come to my head. Why would she send a student out? Shouldn't the driver get more gas? Miss Simian got off of the bus to "make sure that Tina was doing it right", and then...
Kaboom.
The front of the bus blew up. Flames were everywhere and the bus driver lay there bleeding on the floor. The whole bus started to panic. I could see Alan's popped body hanging around the shattered window. The only student that was still alive from the front of the bus was Carrie, who was a ghost and couldn't die like any other mortal. Just like if nothing had happened, she blew the hair out of her face.
I don't know who else had been killed in the explosion, but at the moment I was kind of panicking as well. If you were to compare me to Darwin I would've been the calmest man alive.
"Do something! Do something!" the goldfish with legs grabbed my shoulders and shook me like a dog with an old rag.
I screamed and jumped at the window, it broke and I fell onto the hard road. Darwin and Anais jumped out with me. We then started helping the others out from the broken window. Banana Joe, Penny, Clayton, Carrie, Bobert and others that Gumball didn't know came out before the second explosion killed all those unlucky enough to have been so slow to get out.
The second explosion knocked all of us unconscious. When I woke up I was at Elmore Junior High. All of the survivors were lying strapped onto beds from a hospital. Miss Simian and Tina Rex were nowhere to be seen. If I weren't so stupid I wouldn't have believed that they'd been killed by the explosion.
What surprised Gumball the most was that there were loads of parents there as if they had seen it coming. Even Gumball's Mom and Dad.
"Mom? What's going on?" I asked.
"What's going on is the war for Elmore, Gumball..." Mom replied.
I gulped. I didn't like the sound of that...
