The day before Death
Chapter One
I didn't know what was waiting for me on that island. I didn't know that the day I layed my foot on that ground of freedom, that ground of happiness and friendship, would be my last day on earth. I never thought that I could be one to die. I thought I was safe...
"Come on, Mina!" Lyrei waved to me as we where running towards the tents slightly looking for Andreas, a friend of ours.
"I'm on my way, no need to shout!" I complained, and ran right after her. It had started to rain, and we where seeking for a place to rest and get a hold of ourselves after the football game. It all happened to fast that day, I didn't think that something that big, and that scary could ever happened in such a peaceful island.
Lyrei and I have been a part of AUF since three years ago, I first got interested in it the day my sister told me about it. Lyrei and I then decided to join my sister on a trip when we reached 13, and we've been a part of it ever since. I have to admit, that at first, I didn't think I would like it that much, I have never been a big politician and found the hole idea pretty dumb. But it wouldn't hurt, right? And after the first time, it became my drug, and I was addicted. I was fallen in love with the freedom, the laughter and the amazing people.
"Oh, isn't that Andreas?" Lyrei pointed at a tall boy with nut brown, shiny hair down to his neck. Blue eyes, light as the sky on a midday, and baby smooth, light skin. Easily said, he is a handsome boy with many girls chasing him.
Andreas moved his head gently in my direction, and his mouth crinkled up into a smile. I felt my cheeks turning red, and quickly moved my head to my feet, avoiding his eyes. Don't take me wrong, I don't like him, but his beauty is too much for me to take.
"Why are you standing there all alone?" Lyrei shouted. He's look changed, and he wrinkled his eyebrows in a confusing way. Lyrei repeated it, this time higher, then he chocked his head before turning it up against the gray sky, letting the rain drip onto his face.
"That guy, seriously pisses me off." Mina whispers to me, obviously annoyed with his unusual reactions.
"Yeah, I guess..." I say, just to satisfy her, so she'll shut her mouth for a while. But that doesn't seem to work.
"The way he just ignores everyone else, that's so mean! And he's so weird!" I don't listen to more of her words, my eyes are fixed on Andreas as he walks away to a tree and stares into the trunk, before he mumbles some words.
"Something is going to happened tonight."
Silence.
"Something is going to happened tonight." he repeats. "I can scene it in the air." I automatically turn my head to the sky, trying to understand what he is talking about.
"What do you mean?" Lyrei and I say at the same time.
"Something terrifying."
