Disclaimer: I do not own Soul Eater.
Hi! This is my first ever fanfiction and I apologise for the cliché plot! ): Please R&R so I can improve on my writing and publish more in the future! xD
Kicking a lonesome pebble to the side, Maka Albarn leaned against the wall restlessly, waiting for Soul to meet up with her. This was the 3rd time of the week he was late! This happened only recently after she had successfully turned him into a Deathscythe. Because of that, all the girls flock to him like pigeons. Right now, she is pretty certain that he is being confessed by another one of those superficial girls, wanting to be with him only because of his status.
She knows nobody understands him as well as she does. He is mean and sarcastic to others, but deep down, she knows he's a wandering child, seeking love from others. And she finally faced the truth that she loves him. Whether it's his snobbish jokes or his overprotectiveness. She loves him, and trusts him with all her heart. She doesn't question his fidelity but there's always a lingering fear that he will eventually leave her. Just like how her mother left her flirtatious father. The mere thought scares her so much she's unable to think. And now, given his popularity, he can always find someone who is much better than her. Someone who is a beauty like Kim, or as sweet as Tsubaki. Nobody would want a violent, plain-looking bookworm as a partner.
She shakes her head, trying to get rid of those thoughts.
"Maybe it's time I leave."She muttered under her breath.
She heaved from her comfortable position, ready to head to their empty house.
"Maka! Sorry I'm late!"
She jumped at the deep, baritone voice and whirled around to meet a flustered Soul.
"Sorry 'bout that, I went to settle my partnership issues once and for all."
This puzzled her, she raised her eyebrows and spoke softly, "What do you mean?"
He grabbed her hand in a firm grip, crimson eyes matching her gaze, "Just told everyone who I belonged to."
He flashed his trademark grin and pulled her along, to their safe haven.
She smiles faintly, chiding herself for ever doubting him. She knows Soul Eater will never let her go. And neither would she.
