The personifications of America and Canada where sitting in Canada's house having a few beers.

This if you asked America was the best part of having Canada as a neighbor. He didn't have to wait till he was 21 to drink. He always had the option of getting wasted in Canada. And Matthew being the awesome brother that he was didn't even mind.

Canada poured himself and Alfred another shot of Tequila.

"On the count of thr-" America cut himself off as he was about to start counting. "... Hey Mattie, what's a commonwealth?"

Canada stared at America like a deer in headlights "Why do you ask?"

"Cause It's written on your Calendar over there, March 9."

"Oh It's nothing Alfred. Just something silly my country does."

"Tell me."

"It's nothing."

"Why won't you just tell me. " America whined."It's written on all my calendars too. So I have the right to know."

Canada sighed. How was he going to tell America he was a commonwealth. He could already see the disappointed look on his twins face.

"Earth to Mattie" America said jokingly "are you going to tell me or do I have to ask iggy? "

Canada thought for a while longer. "You should ask England." He then handed America the phone. They dialed England's number.

"Hello, this is the British Empire and Northern Ireland."

"Iggy. It's me Alfred. Mattie won't tell me what a commonwealth is."

England sighed once he heard Alfred's voice, but chose to explain anyway.

"A commonwealth nation is a country under a other country that..."

"Canada's a colony!? You can't colonize the Americas! We will not stand for this! We shall wage war on you, traitor!"

"America! Let me finish, you bloody twit! A Commonwealth is not required to stay under the British crown!" England took in a deep breath and began to explain more calmly. He would have to chose his words better. "They are just a group of free countries who wish to be a part..." England thought about his wording and decided that it needed to be changed "It's like a club for countries"

"A club for countries?" America asked "Cool can I join?"

England sighed again why could this boy not just be easier to deal with. Not that he would entirely mind having America as his little colony again. "Well Alfred there are requirements to join this club. There are three types of club members... but to join a country must... except the queen."

"So a territory? "

"No because they can leave at any time and the queen works with the countries government."

"Oh! Thank you England. Then I take it back I will not wage war against you..."

Canada and England both sighed happily.

"No I'm waging a brotherly war against Canada. For being a traitor."

Both England and Canada yelled "What" as Alfred tackled Canada...
