BATH TIME

AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER

Just a little idea I had that takes place in S3 but not after any particular episode. Chicago Fire belongs to Dick Wolf and NBC. I only own the situation.

Kelly carried Pouch into the area that they had set up for her bath, trying to keep his grip on her as she wiggled around. This was a whole lot easier when she was little, he thought to himself. Sure she had still wiggled, but it had been easier to keep her still. Now though, it was a bit harder. Once he got to the place, he placed her in the tub and then started the water, making sure that it wasn't too hot or too cold before putting the stopper down. He held Pouch down and splashed some water on her as she wiggled around, licking his face, trying to jump on him.

"Down, Pouch," he ordered gently and firmly. She's always so wiggly during this time, he thought to himself. The dog just barked and jumped on him again as he splashed more water on her, shoving her down and getting the soap that they used on her, rubbing it all over her body. She stood still for a bit and then once more jumped on him, gently grabbing the front of his shirt with her teeth and moving backwards.

"Pouch!" he exclaimed, bracing his hands on the wall to keep from falling in. Hearing a laugh, he turned his head to see the other lieutenant, Matt.

"Who's getting the bath, you or Pouch?" he snickered.

"Uh, a little debatable right now," the other man responded as he steadied himself and then splashed more water on her, washing away the soap as Matt joined him and held her so that Kelly could continue what he was doing. Once the soap was washed away, Matt went to get a towel as Kelly unplugged the stopper and pulled her out of the tub. Then they dried her off and sent her on her way, both of them shaking their heads.

"Every damn time," Kelly commented.

"Looks like we need to dry you off," Matt joked.

"You offering?" Kelly teased with a grin.

"Sorry man, I don't swing that way," Matt responded. Just then, the alarm blared and dispatch told them about a house fire, causing the two to rush out.
