Darkness

Chapter 1

Screams, shouts, explosions. All could be heard from within the darkness as it slowly consumed the hallways and classrooms. A little girl in a white dress walked in front of it, her hair golden.

"Do not be afraid" She said in a angelic voice reaching out her hand. "Do not be scared." A man stood in front of the little girl, staring into the darkness. "Come" The man looked down at the girl and joined hands with her.

"No" A voice screamed through the halls. "Get away from it." But the man stepped towards the darkness with the girl and was consumed. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" Screams of pain and agony shot out of the darkness, followed by the light laughter of a girl. The darkness continued to advance through the halls, consuming them. Soon it reached another person, this one a boy sitting in the corner. The girl stepped out of the shadows again.

"Do not be afraid" She said angelically.

"Leave me alone" The boy cried out, curling into a tighter ball.

"Do not be scared" The girl continued as she stepped towards the boy, "This is the future" Reaching out a hand, she smiled a little. "This is destiny." As her fingertips touched the cloth of the boys left shoulder, darkness raced out of the girls sleeve and onto the boy, slowly wrapping him in darkness. "This is how it is meant to be" The girl smiled as the boy let out screams of pain.

"Nooooooo"The boy screamed as the darkness slowly covered him and snuffed out his words with painful screams. The last thing the boy heard was the soft laughter of the girl and his own screams before he slipped into death.

4 months earlier.

"Class is dismissed." The teacher announced, sending kids running out of their seats and into the halls. Each kid stuffing their things into their bags as fast as they could and running out the doors. Some of the kids were shouting "Summers finally here", while others were saying, "Finally, no more teachers." One kid though was singing a different tone then the rest, his eyes stared down at a photograph, tears dripped out of his eyes.

"Dad, this was the day you left us." He said sitting down in the corner where no one could see him. "This is the day they took you away from me." Tears rolled down his cheeks as he curled up into a ball and cried silently as kids passed. Soon the kids were gone, leaving the halls empty with a teachers wandering in and out of rooms now and then. The boy got up and put the picture back in his pocket. "I better get home." He said walking out the side school doors and continued walking to his house.
