Expressions
If you think about it, it's amazing the amount of various feelings one can express with only their mouth.
A frown or a pout, a smirk or a scowl, so many different ones and some that look like two mixed together.
But the one most people seem to like best is a smile.
There are so many different kinds of smiles: crooked smiles, straight smiles, wide smiles, shy smiles and bright annoying smiles that hurt your cheeks if you do them too long.
But that's the thing about expressions; they can lie as easily as they can tell the truth.
My smile is a lie. Even if no one can see that.
I don't like to lie, but as a ninja I can do it without much effort.
I don't like to smile unless I'm really honest to goodness happy, which sadly doesn't happen often.
But I smile anyway.
I've perfected the art of looking happy and that fact alone makes me sad.
Does no one notice how fake it looks?
They'd know if they saw my real smile.
I always have this happy peppy look on my face to hide my vast loneliness.
I'm no better then Kakashi or Haku who wear masks to hide themselves.
But then HE saw through it and hated me for it. He wore no mask. His pain was as plain as day, but no one bugged him about it because he acts perfect.
But that's just it, he's not perfect. No one is.
His perfection is merely an act, just like my smile.
Meant to deceive others.
But I saw it and hated him for it.
Hate next to murder is the ultimate kind of passion. The moment we saw the fakeness in each other we were doomed.
Because hate brings you closer to a person and makes you notice things you never would have noticed otherwise. Like how nice his dark hair contrasts with his pale skin or how you can see what he's feelings if you look deep into his eyes.
It was hate that made me pin him to a wall and kiss him breathless.
It was hate that made him pull me closer and tell me never to let go.
Feelings like expressions are easy to lie about, or fake, but when I see him looking at me like that my smile isn't fake…………..and I know his isn't either.
