Soaked
S J Smith
Summary: Elizabeth is curious.
Disclaimer: While back in the '70's, I would've been thrilled if someone had offered me Patrick Duffy, I don't own any rights (or responsibilities) to this television series.

The notes Elizabeth took were in her own version of shorthand, a sloping, skitterish rush of symbols across a page as she tried to put onto paper everything that she had seen Mark do in the past few hours. To say that he was amazing would be putting it mildly; Mark Harris was literally something she had never come across, had never even dreamed of finding.
Her eyes lifted from the page in front of her to the aquarium laboratory, where Mark cavorted with a pair of dolphins. The fact that he could not only keep up with the dolphins in their element - but perform the same sorts of stunts - could keep her fascinated for hours and not entirely for pure scientific knowledge, either.
The male dolphin, nicknamed 'Rudy' by the marine biologists, swept around Mark, buffeting him with his tail. Elizabeth half rose to her feet but Mark was fine, lunging out of the water and splashing back down. Rudy clicked and whined, his head wagging as he drew closer to Mark and Elizabeth couldn't help but notice that Rudy's penis jutted out of his sheath. She bit the inside of her lower lip, pen forgotten in her hand, wondering how Mark might react. It wouldn't be the first time Rudy had attempted to mate with a human - that was part of the reason he acquired his name.
Mark neatly pivoted out of Rudy's way, making it appear as graceful as the dolphins' dance. Elizabeth thought there was a wry smile on Mark's face as he shoved Rudy's head away, propelling himself back toward the wall. Before Rudy could come again, Mark was out of the water, shaking his hair so water splashed everywhere. Standing, he turned to meet Elizabeth's gaze, the faint hint of a dimple showing. Elizabeth smiled back reflexively though her gaze dropped back to the notebook in her hand.
"I probably should've warned you about Rudy." She could hear Mark's soft-footed approach.
"He is doing what dolphins do." There was the impression of a shrug in that response, though Mark didn't exactly shrug. He still wasn't up on the mannerisms of normal people. "Were you concerned?"
Elizabeth glanced up at Mark, at his peculiar, sea green eyes, and dropped her gaze again hastily. "A little." She hoped Mark couldn't read her well enough to know she wasn't being exactly honest. Yes, she had been concerned but, even more than that, she wanted to know, right then, just what might make Mark aroused.
The problem was, she couldn't even tell herself it was strictly in the name of research.
The Man From Atlantis was one of my favorite television series back in the '70's. It starred Patrick Duffy as the title character, known as 'Mark Harris' and Belinda Montgomery as Dr. Elizabeth Merrill, and focused on the finding of a man who didn't seem entirely human. He could breathe underwater, had webbed hands and could swim like a dolphin. Hokey? Oh, yes, but so much fun. Especially the Romeo and Juliet episode....
