Once Upon a Time, There Was An Old Miller Who Had 2 Children, Who Were Twins.
The Male Twin Was Named Hilbert and He Was Very Greedy, The Female Twin Was Named White and She Was Very Lazy. Hilbert and White Had No Mother Because She Died While Having a Third Sibling Named Ingo, Who Had Been Sent To Live With a Princess.
Hilbert and White Were Never Allowed Outside of the Mill, Even When the Miller Went Away To The Market.
One Day, Hilbert Was Especially Greedy and White Was Especially Lazy and the Old Miller Wept With Anger as He Locked Them In The Cellar, To Teach Them To Be Good.
"Let Us Try To Escape and Live With The Princess." Said Hilbert, and White Agreed. While They Were Looking For a Way Out, a Tall and Strange Looking Man Came Out From Behind The Log Pile. "I Will Help You Escape and Show You The Way To The Princess' Castle." Said The Strange Man. "But Only If You Bring Me All Of Your Father's Crops."
So Hilbert and White Waited Until Their Father Let Them Out. The Next Day, When The Miller Went To The Market and Left The Children Locked Inside The Mill, They Carried All Of The Crops Down To The Cellar.
The Strange, Tall Man Gobbled Up The Crops Until There Were None Left and Went To Sleep Behind The Log Pile. When The Miller Came Home and Found Out, He Declared That He Was Ruined and They Would All Starve To Death and He Locked The Children In The Cellar and Wept With Fear as He Turned The Key.
The Strange Man Was Waiting, "I Will Only Help The Boy-Child and Show Him The Way To the Princess' Castle." Said the Man.
"Because the Girl-Child Had To Stay Behind and Be My Wife! Come Back Once You've Organized the Wedding." "Once I've Escaped, I'll Find Our Brother Indigo and Lead Him Back To Rescue You." Whispered Hilbert to White.
So Hilbert and White Waited Until Their Father Let Them Out.
The Next Day, When The Miller Went Out Bartering For New Crops They Made a Trail of Bread Crumbs All Around The Mill and Into The Cellar, To Show The Wedding Guest Where To Go, They Took The Most Important Pages Out Of an Old Bible, So The Preacher Would Have The Right Words To Say, Then They Stole The Miller's Best Sunday Jacket and Took In The Shoulders So That It Would Fit Hilbert.
And They Stole Their Mother's Wedding Dress and Took Up The Hem So That It Would Fit White, Then She Put It On and She Looked Very Lovely.
But When The Miller Returned From The Market and Saw Them Dressed Up In The Wedding Clothes, He Wept With Shame As He Scolded Them, and Threw Them In The Cellar Once More.
The Wedding Guests Were Already Assembled. There Were Many Men and Women In Strange Uniforms In The Congregation, The Choir Was Made Up Of People In Strange Robes, Who Were Already Singing, The Registrar was a Teenage Boy with Spectacles On, and The Preacher Was a Man Dressed with The Ears of a Fox, Who Was Busy Rehearsing The Right Words From The Bible.
Hilbert Walked White Down The Aisle, and The Strange Man Was Waiting. The Fox-Eared Man Said, "Do You Accept This Offered Hand In Binding and Inescapable Matrimony, White Girl-Child?" White Looked At Hilbert, Who Nodded as if to Remind Her That He Would Rescue Her.
"I Do." Said White. The Fox-Eared Man Said, "Do You Take This Innocent Hand For Your Very Own, Ingo Heartless Dragon-Man?" "I Do." Said The Strange Man, Before Anyone Could Interrupt.
"Then-I-Now-Pronounce-You-Man-and-Wife." Chirped the Fox-Eared Man as Quick as He Could. And In a Flash All of The Wedding Party Scattered, and Hilbert and White Were Left Alone With The Tall, Strange Man. "I Don't Understand," Said Hilbert.
The Man Pushed Hilbert Through a Secret Tunnel That Led Down To The Riverbank, and Hilbert Escaped, Ran Off, and Was Adopted By a Kind and Loving Woman.
Unfortunately, He Never Found His Brother Ingo and Was Unable To Rescue White, The Old Miller Finally Succumbed of Old Age, But Nobody Minded, and White Died While Having 3 Beautiful Baby Girls Who All Grew Healthy On The Miller's Crops and Lived Happily Ever After.
THE END
